Post Your 2022 Hauls!

It's that time of year again - when we post a list of all the cool Metal shit we acquired in the previous year, so everybody can "ooh" and "ahh" with jealousy.

2022 was another decent collecting year for me. I developed a strange obsession with those 3-CD The Many Faces Of... tribute collections, and my fascination with live radio broadcast bootlegs continued from 2021. I filled in quite a few outstanding holes in my collection this year (Armored Saint, Piledriver, Warlock, Sweet F.A.), knocked a long time Holy Grail off my "want" list (Mortal Sin's Face Of Despair), and made a few new discoveries along the way (Griffin, Killing Joke).

I'm not sure if I beat my 2021 total but I'm pretty sure I came close. So anyway, here be The List:

My total was 185. So, I'm not typing all of that.
But the total is down from last year.

I'm not sure what my total was, but it was more last year, I'm certain. That's probably because I spent hundreds of dollars on my PS5 over the summer.

Rateyourmusic says I acquired 146 new CD's in 2022. That seems quite a lot for me. My divorce lead to a spending spree on myself, on stuff I like. I got a new guitar, new shit everywhere, and more CD's than on a normal year that's for sure.

I don't know if I'm going to list them all, but it's been a thrash metal 2022. I got into Death Angel, Flotsam and Jetsam, Heathen, I've filled up my Anthrax collection, oh and I got a big pile of Rush CD's.

I also got into, and acquired the entire catalogue of, Stygma IV, an Austrian trad/prog metal band. I filled up on my Ritchie Blackmore stuff. Got more deeply into Tygers of Pan Tang, Warlock, Anvil, Voivod, bands I've listened to and owned material for years.

New stuff not too much actually.

But yeah, Death Angel and Flotsam and Jetsam have been huge for me the past year. Huge. I just watched the Death Angel "Thrashumentary" recently. Amazing band.

I've only picked up 26 CDs this year. The disposable income just isn't there anymore.
