What Are Your Top 10 "Classic Rock" bands/ artists?

Got the idea from Wrecked Neck saying Pink Floyd was the best of the classic rock bands. BTW, they don't make my Top 10.

Here is mine...

1- Zeppelin
2- Allman Brothers Band
3- Grateful Dead
4- Skynyrd (until 1977)
5- Van Halen (DLR era)
6- UFO
7- AC/DC (Bon Scott era)
8- Kansas
9- Rainbow
10- Doobie Brothers

Didn't include Priest or Sabbath cause "most" consider them "metal" from the get go? Do what ya like, it isn't that big of a deal.

No pink Floyd, then screw you pal!!!!!

In no particular order, cept the first one;
1) Pink Floyd
2) Deep Purple
3) Blue Oyster Cult
4) Uriah Heep
5) Jimi Hendrix
6) The Animals
7) Led Zeppelin
The Doors
9) Styx
10) King Crimson

I'd put AC/DC in my top five, but I don't really consider them in the classic rock category.

I don't own a lot of "classic" rock and what I do have is mostly greatest hits compilations. That said, I have always dug:
The Who
The Doors
Boston
Led Zeppelin
Aerosmith
Deep Purple

...that's not quite 10, but I've never really thought of guys like KISS, AC/DC or VHalen as "classic" rock though I suppose by today's standards they would be.

Yeah, if the thread was just naming top ten favorite bands from the 60's and 70's, my list would be completely different. VH and AC/DC would probably both be on it, along with Motorhead, JP, Sabbath, Rush. Pink Floyd, Hendrix, Boc, and DP would still be there for sure.

So now I'm confused, for the purposes of this thread how are we defining "classic rock"? Does it have to be somebody whose first album was in the 60 or 70s but no longer is active?

Nope, never said that. I stated "first release in 60"s or 70's" so no 80's bands would get included.

So if it was Top 15...

13- Thin Lizzy
14- Deep Purple
15- Bad Co.

Still no Pink Floyd

So AC/DC is valid.

Every band I listed is tied for my Top 10. I will exchange Nazareth for Cheap Trick.
