Fox On The Run
That whole Desolation Boulevard album from Sweet is one of my favorite albums of all-time. I like Phila. Freedom too as I'm a huge Elton John fan but you put that song up against a classic. Why these songs in this matchup anyway? I don't see a common denominator.

Both were on the radio in early 75, so there was that.
They just happened to play back to back while I smoked my very first doobie with older kids at Glen Helen Park during that time.
Just a goofy childhood memory.

Billy Idol did Mony Mony for a cover song…. Because when he first had sex….in the bushes…..near a wall…. A radio was playing from an apartment window…the song.

How in the hell do you remember the songs on the radio 46 years ago while getting high for the first time? And how freakin old were you? 10?

Well my older brother was there at the park. He bought me both 45's for my next birthday. He wrote in the card jokingly, "to commemorate that first head change". My mom had kept the card in a box and gave it to me after my brother had gotten ran over and killed at an Ozzy concert in 81. I still have the card
I was actually older than 10. The 4/1/1965 (April Fools Day) listed here as my DOB is not the real one.
EDIT: Still have the 45's too.

Ah okay that makes sense. Sorry to hear about your brother, that has to be a hard loss to deal with.
I wasn't doubting you, I just had to ask. I clearly remember the first time I attempted to smoke weed, and also the first time I was successful at getting high from it. Both times music was playing, but I couldn't tell you who was playing. I was 13 The first time, and 14 when I learned how to inhale lol

Wrecked Neck:
no problem
The offspring were here for Thanksgiving and photo albums came out & stories were told. Thought a silly thread about old songs would be fun?

Lol when you said the offspring were here, I'm thinking what the hell does the offspring have to do with anything?!? Gotta keep 'em separated....
It is a fun thread. I was just impressed you could remember songs that long ago. I'm lucky if I remember yesterday lol

If I was never given back that card, it would definitely be memory holed! I got tons of bald jokes after the pics of me with Long hair came up. Been shaving the head completely since the late 90's.

That was my first thought too! "James must really have some powerful connections in the music biz cuz he got The Offspring to play for Thanksgiving"
