Fish and Chips!

Ok in britain there is forever the great fish and chip debate - do you prefer cod or haddock. i prefer haddock but i thought i would out it too the floor.

this probably does not mean too much to most but i thought i would see what reaction there is

I went with "Summat Else". I like fish, tuna mostly or some talapia (sp?) or salmon. Shark steak on the grill is good too. Reminds me of summer. But my favorite is sushi. MMMMmmmm raw goodness!

It's not for everyone. I never thought I would like it at first, but once I actually tried it, I loved it.

How about breaded fish sticks or patties. Those are the only fish I like. Chips are potatoes with vinegar on them right? And what is the deal with eel pie?

I went with haddock..cispily batterd and fried with some nice thick chips and mashed peas........

chips are fries in the usa. and in england we call what americans call chips crisps. its confusing

eel pie. i am afraid of eels no joke so i dont want to discuss them

I'm not even sure what kind of fish is commonly used for fish & chips here in the USA. So I guess I can't vote.

have any of you had Barricuda? That stuff is to die for. I went fishing off of the Coronados, and caught about 30 barricuda. Didn't know what to do with it, so we grilled 'em up.

My wife's home - Barbados - is very British in culture and they call fries chips there as well. They have a fish fry in a coastal town every Thursday night. Flying fish is the specialty....it's spectacular!

I can only really take fish when it's battered and fried or tuna if it's so covered in mayo, raisins, cheese, onion, boiled egg, etc...that I can't tell there's tuna in there to begin with....

The Norwegians here in Wisconsin eat "Lutefisk"; which is actually rotten fish soaked in Lye to kill the poison so it's (theoretically) edible. I understand it's monumentally vile. I'm not making this up.

I saw that on Food Network on Alton Brown's Feasting On Asphalt show. Just go ahead and vomit in my mouth and kick me in the crotch. That would be a better experience than eating Lutefisk.

Give me processed Long John Silver's or Gordon's fish sticks. It's about the only way I'll eat fish.

Bro, I LOVE FISH AND CHIPS. I like Cod, but I like any fish.
I eat allot of fried catfish here in the Midwest (that's big here). But
I love crappie, trout, lingcod, rockfish, tuna, catfish, salmon, not to
crazy about bass, marlin rules, and yellow fin is the bomb. And I like
it all raw too, sushi is good. But....there's nothing like a hot basket
of fried fish 'n chips with some malt vinegar mate! Maybe an ice-cold
Newcastle to wash it down?!

I like tapila, shark, swordfish, tuna, salmon, catfish, trout, the fish used by Gordon's, and whatever fish Long John Silver's serves (with fries, i.e. chips). My favorite by far though is salmon.

It's a tasty fish-like alternative, and I LOVE it!

I love it too!! I could eat that psuedo fish all day every day! I especially like the crunchies at the bottom of the dish and had to raise hell one day when they didn't give the crunchies due me!!
