| This question refers to album openers (song) Nothing to do with the album or the band.
Top of my head... Uriah Heep-"Gypsy" Deep Purple-"Speed King" Led Zeppelin-"Immigrant Song"
What do you think is the best opener by a British hard rock band in 1970?
My choice is "Immigrant Song" by Zeppelin _________________

| Sabbath had two albums in 1970. Both opening tracks are iconic.
Black Sabbath and War Pigs

Chicago band Coven had a song called "Black Sabbath" that opened their 1969 album Witchcraft Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls and their bass player was called Oz Osborne.

They did "One Tin Soldier" for "Billy Jack" movie, if memory serves me correct? Didn't know the rest that you mentioned, interesting trivia . Thanks _________________

| That Coven album is a trip. They have a high priest from the church of Satan at the end of the album reciting, or performing a black mass. Wasn't aware they were from the U.S., always assumed they were British.
Anyways, back on topic, how bout another great tune from a 1970 release? Speed King, from In Rock, by Deep Purple anyone? My personal favorite Purple album to boot.

| I am in agreement with the excellent examples above. Definitely my type of music that I was raised on back in the 70's. Here is another example that is often overlooked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If2akTqCML4 | |
