| It's a great album for sure, 6 decades though is a tad ridiculous considering all the truly revolutionary albums produced in England during that time. One of my favorite Maiden records and I think it still holds up beautifully amongst similar records produced during the early 80s, but it's not anywhere near the top of a list I would put together once you take the 60s and 70s into account.

| I'm glad their bands are better for me than their women. | |

Too hairy? That's the french. On Californication the Hank Moody character says he likes some hair "down there" because it reminds him he's actually going down on an adult. |

Too hairy? I appreciate the 'natural' look.

| I would pick JP's British Steel. Although I like Maiden as a band better overall. | |

I agree, even though I don't really care too much for the earlier decades of music. There's just too many other important albums to consider.

| Adele beats out Zeppelin, Sabbath and Bowie on this list, however. Whilst she's very talented, the legacy and influence of these other artists is greater, indicating an element of immediacy to the voting. | |

| I like the pick. Number of the Beast is my favorite Maiden album, and I think it had stood up well against the march of time. 30 years old and still amazing! | |

| "Hallowed Be Thy Name" is a top 10 Maiden song, and I've always loved "Total Eclipse" though neither my original cassette or my friend's album version contained that song. Wonder how Steve Harris' solo album will be??, I like the album cover... http://www.metalstorm.net/events/news_comments.php?news_id=17333&page=&message_id= | |

| I love #OTB, but I think there are better Maiden albums (and better British albums). Glad to see my favorite band get the accolade so I'll settle for this. | |
