Starting tomorrow, and partially inspired by glassprison's revisiting of VH III, I will start at the letter A and pick an album form each band that is generally ignored when I feel like listening to that band. Accept is the first band in my collection alphabetically so I will start there. I don't know which I will pick yet. See ya tomorrow.

Listen to "Eat The Heat". Accept fans seem to hate that album but it's actually my favorite from the band.

It might not be my favourite, but it is still a great album and contains one of their best and most forgotten songs:

'Eat the Heat' is far from my favorite but I think its a decent album. If they had made a few more albums with David Reece I think this album maybe better regarded.

Forcing yourself to listen to something you don't feel like listening to is not necessarily a pleasant experience. It can be a chore.

In all honesty, I love that album. It's probably in my top 5 fave Accept albums, I kid you not.

Agreed. But, I am not picking something I know I don't like in hopes I fall in love with it. I am rather picking an album that I don't normally choose, or one I haven't played in a long while cuz it gets passed over for the bands better/bigger material.

Accept - Russian Roulette
Not a bad album by any stretch, just nowhere near as memorable and hook laden as the early 1980's or last decade of the band. It starts strong with "T.V. War" and "Monsterman" but seems to lose it's way after that. Side 2 has a couple of good tracks in "Another Second to Be" and album closer, "Stand Tight". Overall, I would probably go 7/10 on this one as it's got a handful of tracks worthy to make a Sentinel comp and it's a pretty quick listen at around a 45 minute run time.
*Originally, I was going post a vid with each album but that's going to kill the pace of the page loading. Plus, most everyone here knows the albums anyway.
*I implore you, my Metal brothers, to jump on if you want. The only ground rule I would set is to make sure you have 2 albums to choose from or it's not going to make much sense. For example, Lee Aaron is technically the first artist in my collection alphabetically, but I only have Metal Queen. So, if I want to listen to her , then I don't have a choice.

I can try and listen to one of the more recent Avantasia albums the next time I feel like listening to Avantasia.

AC/DC - Blow Up Your Video
This one should have been called "Autopilot" as there is only one memorable song here, "Heatseeker" that I would even remotely think of throwin' on a comp. Kind of hard to keep up the quality and pace these guys (and lots of other acts from the era, too) were on since the early to mid 1970's and were now closing in on the beginning of the 1990's; so there is bound to be missteps along the way. Overall, a pretty generic album where each song seemed to blend into the next. I say 4/10.

Good choice for a revisit. I just looked at the track list and can't remember a single song on there. And I know I've listened to it in the past...

Adrenaline Mob - Men of Honor
Of the 4 AD discs I own, this one gets pushed aside and I don't know why. I enjoyed cranking this one while I was doing some yard work a little while ago. Heavy, hard hitting, and with a few real good tracks (Mob Is Back, Feel the Adrenalin, and Judgement day) and an overall enjoyable listen. I would go a strong 7/10.

Aerosmith - Rock in a Hard Place
I remember why I don't listen too this one all that much...it's not that good. I will say that "Lightning Strikes" is a great tune with a killer dirty groove and Jailbait is a good album opener; but other than the title track and "Prelude to Joanie/ Joanie's Butterfly" the rest is filler in my ears. The latter 2 tracks are a bit different than the Aero's traditional sound, but I think that's why they stood out. Two replacement guitarists and Tyler still whacked out on coke and whatever else more than likely contributes to the it or miss nature of the album. Overall, a 5/10. Odd fact, the "Cry Me A River" track is a cover of a Julie London song who was an actress/singer in the 1960's and '70's. She was on the T.V. show Emergency! that I watched as a child and when I was 5 years old I told my Mom I was going to marry nurse Dixie McCall! Ha ha, good times.

Excellent song. I am a big time Russell Allen fan (Symphony X) and of course a Portnoy fan (Dream Theater) so this group was a win-win for me. And, of course, Mike Orlando shreds.

What if I don't feel like listening to Avantasia in the near future?

Maybe you've just been exposed to their later material too much?
Listen to Rocks. One of the best (if not THE best) 70's metal album!

You nailed it! I did purchase Rocks last summer and gave it a couple of spins. Way better than anything they have ever done later.
But I guess it wasn't enough to turn me into an Aerosmith fan.

Awesome album. The only reason I don't play this one more is because "Unstoppable Force" is so fecking epic!!! 8/10.

This album rules!!! The title track is the best song the band has ever written!!!
