The 70's. Maybe I'm too romantic about it, but whatever, it's the greatest decade that I never lived.
Yet I also agree that every decade has had its share of shitstorms. Life is undeniably cruel no matter how much we dress it up. This pandemic is the ultimate lesson in that--we can only go so far in trying to control things. If someone doesn't fuck it all up, well, something will.
For what it's worth I'm praying for you guys.

METAL will be better: more passion/angst/love/spirit/creativity. Think of all the Europeans stuck in their small flats with nothing to do but practice! You think Europe is a Metal hotbed now????!?!!?!?
Movies: Ditto
Family: We'll love the ones we love more, and the ones we don't love or struggle with we'll love more.
Friends: Ditto
Politics: Ditto
Personal and General Health: We'll all be more aware of our physical fitness, eating and hygiene, etc...
Economy: It sucks now but we'll come back tighter, smarter, stronger. The clouds will eventually part and we'll be so ready to rumble.
I appreciate this outlook and going to try and fight my nature and adopt it as my own.

I grew up in the '80s. It's "my" decade. Everything was better - the music, the movies, the pornography, etc.

Lol - Wrecked Neck. I also briefly too thought of the 60’s. The vibe of those 10 years. Same thing. Screw that ! 80’s !

Why do Americans think that everyone in Europe lives in a small flat? We don't, I have a three bedroom house and I live alone!
Mind you I need all that space for toilet paper and beans!

Just a reminder that the point of this thread was great songs. I kinda knew that you were going back to the 80's (some of you never left! ) but why?
Give me a song that proves that your decade is the one to go to!

That's an interesting theory regarding the musical aspects of this; people being stuck at home with nothing to do but practice/write music.
The rest? Movies? Forget it, creativity in mainstream movies is largely dead. But I bet you see a bunch of movies about this whole incident and/or takeoffs/extrapolations thereof.
Family and Friends? I already had limited contact with any of those before coronavirus so that's not going to change
Politics? We'll go right back to the polarized nation we were. Guaranteed.
Personal and General Health? Hopefully we learn something from all this and continue a lot of these handwashing/sanitizing practices long after coronavirus is history
Economy? That one is a big question IMO. It could come back but it could also be irreparably damaged by all these shutdowns and self-quarantines.

Wht Effin Thrasher said. This debate just came to a close. In my mind, anyways. But if tou 70's/90's/whatever happened after that - folk wanna debate. Go for it my brothers and one sister. Defeat Master of Puppets [or ANY so ng ON IT!!!!] And Queen just ain't gonna cut it.

The 70’s for me. I grew up in the 80’s, and while I enjoyed it thoroughly, I want to head back to the 70’s when I was just a little whipper snapper. The girls were fine, drugs were plentiful and still recreational. I’d go see Zeppelin, Cheap Trick and Van Halen in their prime. I want to sit in a bean bag with some Marcia Brady looking chicks and play them the debut Van Halen record for the first time and watch their hip-hugging panties melt when Diamond Dave kicks it into high gear.
