Ugh... I have a friend who enjoys them. Though metal has had its fair share of cliches over the decades, I find this type of vocal approach from females to be the most tired/boring and I'm beyond turned off by it. Talk about pigeonholing yourself. I'm not a big fan of the guitar tone, but I could probably get around that without the goofball vocal approach. The only thing that is a bit more cliched in metal, is the switch back and forth between a male vocalist with clean vocals and a female vocalist with the guttural approach. I just saw "Witch Mountain" recently and I was bored to death. I happened to be at the Cincinnati show with Corrosion of Conformity, The Skull, Mothership and Witch Mountain, when Kayla Dixon the lead singer walked withing a few inches of me. My greatest fear would have been her asking me, "What did you think of the show?"
