Off the deep end.

Looking back through some of the idiocy that I posted a couple of days I ago, I realized that I really am in trouble, man. My drinking has come to the point of black out drunk after 1 or 2 drinks. So, after 18 or 20 shots, I remember exactly nothing about making those posts. 50 years old and this is what I have dissolved into. Pathetic.

Anyways, this is my public apology. I said some vile shit and you guys truly don't deserve it. After I get done with my community service, I will be checking myself in and getting some help. Freddy - please delete those posts.

Anyway, I got my ass sober relatively young because even I didn't like what I had turned into and I don't miss it. Takes a lot of work and and a lot of honesty with yourself but there is nothing cool about being an alcoholic, it's just shit.

I barely have a presence on this board and we don't know each other, so I didn't get involved in those threads. But I felt I needed to say that even though you and I have vastly different points of view, you have my respect. It took humility and guts to address those posts and apologize.

On a serious note, as someone that is in recovery myself and went through rehab and countless AA meetings, I can tell you your life will get much better if you get the help you say you need. It won't be easy, but if you put aside your ego and go in with a complete open mind, learn and listen to others around you, you'll do just fine. Hang in there man, things will get better.

When you first posted the thread mentioned, I was going to comment along the lines of someone seemed to have drank too much. I'm glad I didn't do that. Don't let your past define you, use your strengths to overcome your weakness, and remember you are not alone in this.
