Well that Metallica that I flung out of the 6th story window is probably a rarity now. I was in Okinawa Japan at the time I got it and it came with an extra track of a cover of the song So What. I remember paying 25 USD for the CD too. When I got back to my barracks I put it on skimmed through the songs, learned pretty much all the riffs and then realized I despised it. I could not believe they were even worse than ever at that point and I flung it quite far. I felt relief from what I felt was a waste of my money. Haven't liked them since.

I remembering buying Load. I listened to that piece of trash once. Never gave them a chance again.

I gave them a pass on the Black album. It had some decent songs, even though I was very disappointed with it at the same time. Then I heard the new metallica song for their new upcoming album load on the radio, and James belting out "give me fuel, give me fire, give me all that I desire....oooooha" and my metallica fandom ended in that moment. Never bought anything after the binge and purge box set, and never will. Never even heard the entire load album, and even less of re-load.

Not sure what that import is worth, but I bought that same one for a friend of mine for his birthday. Cost me about the same as you paid and is probably hard to find. I wanted to steal hi copy for myself, cause So What is funny shit lol

Fuel is on Re-Load.
And I never heard Re-Load either, but I know that song.

Oh yeah, you're right. lol Well either way, I heard whatever song they were playing when it came out and never bothered with them again. Fuel just "fueled" my anger and disappointment!

I believe it was Until It Sleeps that was receiving airplay before Load was released. I remember thinking that surely the rest of the album doesn't sound like that. I bought it and Overkill's The Killing Kind on the same trip during my lunch break. God was I disappointed. I traded that thing back pretty quickly. Still own the Killing Kind, an album far better.

OK, I had to look it up because if the "So What" covered was the Ministry song I'd have had to round it up. Thankfully it's not so I'm not missing anything.

I have thrown a few cd's myself. Metallica's S/T flew high and far from a 6th story window. Another time I was driving down the freeway and had just boughten Living Sacrifice's album The Hammering Process. I got through scanning the whole CD and tossed that garbage right out the window as well!
I like The Hammering Process album. I much prefer it over the unlistenable vocals of their second album Nonexistent.

No it's not Ministry, but The Anti-Nowhere League. Great song IMO, but mostly for comedic purposes, at least for me.
Original
Metallica
Love the Ministry song So What too.

Metallica would probably have been better off covering the Ministry song. How much can you really do with a classic punk song to make it different? But there could be a lot of "re-imagining" done to the Ministry "So What". Start with loops from more recent films. Or get rid of the loops entirely and make the song strictly "metal" (of course it would only be about 3 minutes long then).T
Damn it, now I'm in the mood for some Ministry. That trilogy of "Land Of Rape And Honey", "The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste" and "Psalm 69" still gets regular play by me; one of the best trilogies of albums ever IMO.

I remember going out with my bud and getting Load. We got in the car and popped it in the deck and after James singing "Ain't My Bitch" we looked at each other and then listened in silence up to "Until it Sleeps" when I finally broke the silence by saying, "dude, this album sucks" and he popped it out. To this day, the only tune I like is "Bleeding Me"

It's been over 20 years since I've heard Load, but I remember liking Bleeding Me. Can't remember much else. Never bought it. Never bought Reload or St.Anger either, but I have heard St.Anger once at a friend's place. Did not make me want to buy it.

I purchased St Anger a couple of weekends ago. Found it for a very low price and i thought why not add it to complete my collection. Wrong decision. But i can't get past this bad habit of completing my discography. Any cure here?

If I don't want a cd, I put it up for sale on ebay.
If you find the right buyers and have the right merch, there is still a market for cds. It may not be what it once was, but there's still folks out there willing to pay. I made some decent money last month selling off some of my collection.
And after 3 tries, if a cd doesn't sell, I'll dump 'em off to the local Goodwill. I don't think I could ever bring myself to just throwing them out in the trash.

No way i would throw a cd in the thrash. I agree that giving it to the local goodwill is the best solution, in case it finds no buyer.

How much "goodwill" does St.Anger generate?
