Maryland hard rock icons KIX will release "Fuse 30 Reblown" on September 21, 2018, exactly 30 years after "Blow My Fuse"'s original September 19, 1988 release date. KIX announced the release from the stage of the M3 Rock Festival where the band performed "Blow My Fuse" in its entirety last weekend to their hometown crowd.
"Fuse 30 Reblown" features a stunning Beau Hill (ALICE COOPER, RATT, WARRANT, KIX) remixed and remastered version of KIX's Atlantic Records "Blow My Fuse" album, as well as special never-before-released demos of all 10 tracks, recorded in the early-to-mid-1980s. "Blow My Fuse" features the group's biggest hit, the power ballad "Don't Close Your Eyes", which reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1989. The album achieved platinum sales and peaked at No. 46 on the Billboard Top 200, making it the most successful of the band's 35-year career.

Neat-O. If there was ever an album that deserved a remix/remaster, Blow My Fuse is it. Some great songs on it but compared to Midnite Dynamite (its predecessor) or Hot Wire (its followup) it sounds like ass.
For years I always thought the sub-par sound quality of Blow My Fuse was because I'd played my cassette copy to death. Then I upgraded it to CD and was like "Damn...I guess it always sounded that bad."

Hmmm , I am sort of interested in this. I really have no use for these remastered/remixed releases but the original copy I own is a low volume affair and it could probably use a boost. Maybe I'll find it on the cheap.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I'd put this in the "definite maybe" category.

Here we go again with the "unreleased tracks" being a big load of "who the hell cares?" Although it is ironic that we get demo versions of songs that sounded like crap on the original release. I can only imagine what the demos of those songs must sound like.

I've always liked the songs Cold Blood, Don't Close Your Eyes and Blow My Fuse. And I welcome the remix/remaster. The original recording is very low volume and very thin on the bass.
I'll get it if it's reasonably priced because as everyone has noted, the original album sounds awful. But I sure wish there was more incentive than those demos.

It's too bad they didn't dig up a few discs worth of live versions of these songs, and include some vintage photos and concert advertisements so I could buy it as a boxed set for like $500.
This album does need a remastering. I'll get it if it's at a decent price.

I will see them open for Stryper in September. It seems like they are playing the album in full at most of their shows this year. Should be pretty cool.
I am in. Not a crazy fan of these dudes, but I have most of their albums, seen 'em once live, and this is my fave from them. Plus, I'm a sucker for deluxe editions.
I like Kix, but this was the one album that I did not love, the production was crap, despite being produced by Beau Hill, and of course this is the one album of their's that went platinum.
So, I brought this one in the car for the travel to and from work today, inspired of course by this thread. Other than hearing the "hits" off this album, I hadn't spun the album proper in a while. The whole is a very enjoyable and fun listen, but the best tracks are still "Get It While It's Hot" and "Blow My Fuse" while the album opener, "Red Light Green Light" and "Cold Blood" are great too. And surprisingly, I didn't hit the skip button when "Don't Close Your Eyes" came on. Although, having the ballad as the fourth song does sort of seem a tad early to slow down the party. I felt it should have been 6th or 7th in the track listing. The production/ mastering/ whatever, is pretty shotty;but it wasn't as bad as I remembered it to be. Anywhoo, a fun listen and pretty excited for the deluxe edition coming our way in September.
My favorite Kix album is still "Midnight Dynamite". Not a weak track on that one IMO.

100% agree and it still sounds great, something that cannot be said for alot of albums released during that time period

S/T for me. Yeah Yeah Yeah is one of the most iconic party tunes of the 80's [And the rest of the album has mean groove, too!!].

It's not "exactly" if it's two days off.

Hot Wire is probably my favorite Kix album. "Luv-A-Holic" and "Pants on Fire" are really underrated songs in their catalogue.
