Just turned 47 and have made some observations. I still have my hair but it is starting to leave. Where is it going?? When I sit Indian Style my knees hurt. I have a bad case of tennis elbow that wakes me up in the middle of the night. I fall asleep before 9PM while watching my favorite shows. I try to exercise at least 3 days a week yet my waist line expands. I need bifocals and can no longer see up close when wearing my contact lenses.
Oh the pain, the pain.

I'm 46...just got diagnosed Type 2 diabetic in Feb, I've had glaucoma for a couple of years, had bifocals for 5 years, been on blood pressure meds since I was 34. Don't have enough hair left to worry about...been shaving my head for about 3 years. I have lost about 40 lbs over the last year, so that's a plus....overall though, I agree...getting old sucks.

Pfffft...just wait; it gets worse. Although I've lost over 40lbs since September myself.

Ha! I can't wait
I'm not really heavy by any means (209 when I weighed yesterday) but I would like to be about 185 and it just ain't happenin'. I TRY to hit the eliptical machine at least 3-4 days a week but since my daughter was diagnoses with T1 Diabetes a month ago I have been 3 times, so that's less than once a week. And when I do go at least 3 or 4 times a week I can't stay ahead of the game. Oh well.
Need to make an eye doc appointment soon. Need some new glasses for work and they pay for them so that's what I am waiting on -- May. Once May is here work will give me a certificate that pays for new glasses and these will be bi-focals. Not sure what to do about my contacts, I don't wear them much anymore. Awesome vision looking far away but need resading glasses up close.
I don't sweat the hair thing that much... I'm not going to impress anyone, nor do I really want to and my wife is fine with me the way I am (at least I HOPE she is!).

I'll be 48 in about three weeks.
My eyesight is shot, I've had a bald spot on the back of my head that's been claiming more and more territory of late, and my feet hurt.
On the other hand, I've lost over 40 lbs since last New Year's Day thanks to some dietary changes and regular power-walking, so there's that. We won't even discuss how much I weighed prior to Jan. 1, 2017. (shudder)

I'll be 49 in August. My hair line is receding. I do have some pains and stiffness in my knees when I get up in the morning. My weight is down about 10 lbs. But I needed to lose that. 5 more lbs. wouldn't hurt to be honest. I look at things this way any day above ground beats the alternative.

The one thing I still have going for me is that I have my hair. Which is amazing considering other than my dad, every male on both sides of the family is just about bald. Even my younger brother is thinning. Not me though; I have almost all of the genetic traits of my mom's side of the family but I got one good gene from my dad - hair.

I will be 50 in July. I still have my hair, although my once black mane is now mostly gray. My vision has been bad almost my whole life and it's slowly getting worse. I work out daily to try and keep the weight steady (and it has been since I lost 50 lbs. about 5 years ago). Fortunately I have no major health issues as yet.

I've worn glasses since 2nd grade. I'm up to tri-focals now. Actually, I'm legally blind in one eye without any kind of correction.
Fortunately my vision seems to have plateaued at "really crappy"; there for a while doctors weren't sure whether I would have any sight at all by the time I was 65. But now my prescription only changes a little bit every several years.

I'd put your pre- Jan. 1, 2017 weight at "Fat" and I have that on good authority.

Ear and nose hair. Sometime in my early 40's, it just started sprouting outta nowhere. I gotta attack that s**t with a weed wacker.
My daughters are always kind enough to point it out when I need a trimming.

Haha, yeah, I guess the username is slightly less accurate than it used to be... but I'll never be "thin," just less of a fat-ass. I could probably stand to lose at least another 10-15 lbs, but I seem to have hit a plateau since the end of 2017. I keep gaining and losing the same 5 pounds over and over

I turn 47 later this year and I'm holding up remarkably well for someone who had been in rehab twice before they were 31 and repeatedly warned that they wouldn't see 35!
I'm about 20lb overweight but can't be bothered to diet, have longer hair than when I was a kid and have Homer's attitude to exercise
I think the fact that I don't even pretend to worry about any of that stuff is the reason for my relatively good health.
I am still short though!

I'm definitely trying to preserve the vision as much as possible, the eye dr says people with glaucoma at my age often need surgery if they want any vision left when they get older.

I've thought about that but it's out of my pay range. My astigmatism is too pricey for me.
Oh and good luck with that!

My dad got eye surgery earlier this year so he no longer needs to wear glasses.

In my case, I'm taking advantage of the prices in South Korea before I go back to the U.S. this summer. Altogether it only cost me about $1,200. While I just have moderate myopia, it would have easily cost 4x that if I wanted to have it done in Chicago.
I think seeing myself in the mirror without glasses will take some getting used to. I've had the thick and conspicuous black "artsy" frames for almost a decade now. Anyway, I'll find out soon enough...

Ill be 44 in July Ive noticed some changes though losing my hair hasnt been one of them, my father is in his mid 70s with a full head of hair. where as my brother who is in his mid 30s now has thinning hair and a receeding hairline
I guess getting old is better than the alternative

Exactly! That's what I say all the time.
Some of the aging things are annoying, but I like the confidence and experience of being older. I don't care what other people think of me 10% as much as I used to. F 'em. I know myself better, know what I like, comfortable in my own skin.
Yes, I can't play sports as vigorously as before, but I'm fighting this aging to the end.
Anyhow, like Addy said; It could be worse!

You guys are so old! I'm glad I'm only 38... Though with a bad back, bad elbow, bad trapezius muscle, acid reflux, possible ulcer colitis, I'm probably physically older than some of you .
Not going bald, but there are some quite noticeable grey hairs in my beard.

I've had a lot of good laughs at this thread - truly I'm nearing 54, I think. Eye sight shot. Cant read the tracks on a CD while driving. Hearing is shot. I just stare at my boss and coworkers now. One thing that I don't like - lol - is cranking metal in my car - people see that I'm old - but I'm still cool - expensive shades too. Bald spot expanding. Grey is dusting. Still in good health. Kicked booze after 35 years of spontaneous excitement.
