Yeah, that sounds like Demons & Wizards! I can't believe it's actually happening!
Though it's comical seeing Jon Schaffer with short gray hair, wearing a suit, dodging explosions. Is it the same director that did the Iced Earth video where they were on a pirate ship? The instantly archaic CGI reminds me of that.
And that god-awful video for Framing Armageddon. Ten Thousand Strong? No, that was way worse than anything before or after.

I'm gonna have to revisit the first two D&W albums now before this one comes out!

I find most of their videos to be epic slices of cheese. Good thing they make some good music.

Bands don't have money to make decent videos anymore, which is a shame because I've found some videos ruin my enjoyment of a song. I have to listen to it without the visual cheese. Haha.

I need to revisit Demons & Wizards. I remember it not grabbing me like I expected.
I bought the first one at the height of my Iced Earth obsession (and I dug BG too, but just not as much).
It just didn't get in my head like I thought it would. I don't know if I ever even heard the second one.
I also remember that when I bought the first D&W, it was from eBay. When it came in, it only had the disc and cover booklet, no back inserts. I contacted the guy and he said that he had tossed all his back inserts and cases and just stored the discs and covers in a large CD book. He told me that the auction said "comes with disc and booklet"....which on going back and checking, it did say that. But that never implied to me that it also meant "no back insert"--which he definitely should've specifically stated.
So that D&W album never felt like a proper part of my collection. Like it was a dubbed copy of it on tape or something.

Haven't picked it up yet. I will be in Europe in three weeks so I will probably buy my copy there.

Some interesting videos to see. Hansi and Jon talk about favourite (most metal) fantasy reads:
(Hansi loves Tolkien, Jon loves Spawn and both love Stephen King)

I thought I ordered a jewel case version, the cheapest one (€13), but ended up receiving the digipak with 2 bonus tracks.

Haven't picked it up yet, but it's next on my list. Post Office had been really slow due to the Covid-19 outbreak so i still have lots of cds pending arrival/delivery.
Are the two bonus tracks worth it?

No, not really.
EDIT: well, actually, since I didn't pay anything extra, I guess you could say they are. But just get the cheapest version you can find. I'm sure all have the same booklet.

I was in the car with wifey, driving and listening to this new album. When 'Dark Side of Her Majesty' came on, tongue in cheek, I mentioned it's a song about her. Unfortunately she then went on to read the lyrics on her phone.
But, honestly, that's her.
Spoiler:
"Feed her, seed her She's a villain, she's a killer You'll be damned
Mother deceiver Callow believers In every age Her bidding shall be done It shall be done Pernicious intention Imposing tradition By cover of night They all fall one by one Let it be done
Feed her, seed her She's a villain, she's a killer God only knows when it ends Her lust for the young Her rapture for blood
Spreading illusions Fomenting confusion The old wicked sage Her bidding shall be done It shall be done Blood-sucking Demon Transforming the kingdom A prison for all A literal hell that can't be won Let it be done
Ye Shall Fall Ye Shall Fall
Feed Her, Seed Her She's A Villain, She's A Killer God Only Knows When It Ends She Will Bleed Them All Dry In The End When There's No Way Out
Her Lust For Your Young And The Blood That's Inside Their Power She Needs A Spider To Fly Sinking The Fangs In The Flesh Sucking Your Blood In Black Rites She's Destroying You Entangled She Is Trapping You She Is Evil This Is The Dark Side Of Her Majesty Let It Be Done Now!
Born To Believe In This Hell As The Dark Sky Rises Fell The Hand Of Destiny Fate Keeps Marching On
Feed Her, Seed Her She's A Villain, She's A Killer God Only Knows When It Ends Her Lust For The Young Her Rapture For Blood God knows Feed Her, Seed Her God knows She's A Villain, She's A Killer God Only Knows When It Ends She Will Bleed Them All Dry In The End When There's No Way Out God Only Knows When It Ends Only God knows when it ends When there's no way out God Only Knows When It Ends Listen To Me Curse Her Name God Only Knows When It Ends Tell Everyone We Will Not Live In Fear God Only Knows When It Ends God only knows when it ends"

Guess i am gonna have to wait before making any new music orders. Country's shutting down completely in an attempt to contain the Coronavirus outbreak. Hope it doesn't last long.

Yeah, just two demos of album tracks. Not much different or anything. No need to go out of your way for them or anything.
As for the album, it's good, but I feel like it's missing the really great hooks that are present on the previous albums.

I'm really digging this album. "Timeless Spirit," "Midas Disease," and "Universal Truth" in particular sound like instant classics to my ear.

Some really good tracks here like the ones glassprison mentioned. Epic songs, those. It's not quite as heavy as the first album, and not that many fast songs as in the second.
A little more methodical. Some acoustic passages. Difficult to say how I'd rank it. I only barely touched the the closing epic yet. Played it twice. Not sure what to think yet.
