I've started getting into these guys heavier recently and I was wondering which of their albums you guys like more? They're both pretty killer bluesy metal/hard rock albums, as I'm sure you all know. I love Jake E. Lee's guitar and Ray Gillen's vocals so much; what a combo.
Really tough call...both albums are awesome..i went with voodoo highway..

The self titled for me. Dusk is a good album as well.

I've never heard Voodoo Highway so I'm going with the self titled by default. I love that album. Winter's Call is a fantastic song.
I couldn't agree more. Awesome song!

Both albums are fantastic. The debut probably gets spun more frequently, so that got the vote. I've never heard Dusk, but I have been outbid a few times, trying to win a copy.

Have the debut on CD, dig it immensely.
Used to own Voodoo Highway on tape but it's lost to the ages so I haven't heard it in years.

(IMHDO) Jeff Martin has a style more suited to the tunes they play, so I voted for "Voodoo Highway".
Still dig the debut though. I remember seeing Ray sing with Savatage at Jezebel's in Santa Anna (Streets Tour I believe) it was awesome.

Voodoo Highway because it has The Last Time.
Love that song!

Since I had to pick for the poll, I went with the debut, but I love them equally. I played the shit out of both all through high school. I remember buying the cassingle for "Dreams in the Dark" at the mall after hearing it on the Z Rock 50 countdown. I still have my original cassettes from hs and bought a few live boots about a decade ago as they never released a live album.

Probably my favorite song of theirs, but I'll go with the first album, barely.

What does a live bootleg sound like by these guys back in the day ? ! I can’t believe, in this day of age, a concert’s not available, by this band.

Not bad. One is B+ sound and the other is B-. Both have fantastic packaging with full cover tray cards and booklets. One is called "Devils Dust" and the other is called "Whiskey Train" and they are really more of a collector's item. The dude I got them from had a ton of stuff. I got a few Dokken from him, too but stopped as he kinda wanted a lot for the discs. The packaging and presentation was killer. but sound quality was okay.
Another guy I bought a lot from was low price and sparse packaging ( one or two silver discs with a wraparound cover in a thin plastic sleeve) but his sound quality was professional; even for Dio. Priest, and Leppard stuff from the early '80's.

Went with Voodoo Highway because it was the first one I got. However, I like both albums equally.

I was listening to Dusk cd by them this morning on my way into work. I was shocked by how much - like The Cult - some of these songs sound like. There's even some touches of Zep here and there. Great recording.
