| I have been investing a lot into these two bands lately and i do dig what i hear. Sounds weird for a speed/thrash metal maniac like me, but those two doom giants sure have the tunes.
So, which one gets your vote?

| Went with pentagram. But it was a tough choice. | |

| Candlemass for me, mostly because I'm more familiar with their work. I have all but one of their albums.
Pentagram is a new-ish band for me. I didn't really investigate their music until after I saw that doc about the lead singer ('Last Days Here'). I have 2 comps by them which I like well enough, but have yet to dig much deeper. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I guess I could go with Candlemass, but I've only heard one album of theirs (Tales Of Creation). I've never heard a song by Pentagram except maybe once, and I don't even remember it. | |

You're missing out my man, both great bands with tons of awesome music. I voted Candlemass, only because to me they are the type of music I think of when I think of doom. Pentagram is doomy, but Candlemass is DOOM! If that makes sense lol

| Aside from Trouble (who may or may not be considered purely "doom" depending on what album you're talking about) I have never dug very deeply into the doom-metal genre.
That said, I own two Pentagram CDs but only one Candlemass. So I guess Pentagram gets the nod. (shrugs) _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I would've put Solitude Aeturnus up against Candlemass, cos they're two doom bands that are more in the same vein of each other. Pentagram's got that really awesome Sabbath-like, soaked in the occult vibe that Candlemass doesn't possess.
I'm a big fan of both bands, but I'd have to pick Pentagram out of the two.

| Hard to pick one but those early Candlemass albums were just seductively strange in the '80s. | |

Unfortunately i am still buidling up my doom collection and only own the latest saint vitus. But i am willing to invest more in this band. It would be interetsting if i could obtain names of other doom metal bands too.

| While Heaven Wept is a great band. Argus is cool. Solitude Aeturnus is strongly recommended, as you're a fan of Candlemass. and Subrosa, if you like female vocals and long song lengths.
