My favorite album of 2016, so far...

Now that I have pretty much all the albums I set out to get this year, which are:
Testament, Flotsam & Jetsam, Crowbar and Metallica (minus the new Suicidal)
I still need that...

My top choice for this year is Flotsam! What a return to form after the last one! The drums are perfect and the bass sound is the best since No Place for Disgrace IMO.

Looking forward to Overkill early next year!

I need to get that one still. I loved The Cold, and then really didn't like Ugly Noise, so I was hesitant to buy the new one. Maybe I'll pick it up this upcoming payday.

Not sure what my favorite release I've picked up this year is. Been a slow year for me, so I guess it would have to be the new Opeth, or Suicidal Tendencies.

The new Flotsam is great. It didn't get much attention here but if you haven't heard it, you're missing out. That said, I'm still leaning towards Metal Church's XI as my fave of the year.

Haven't heard much from them since back in the day, they sure have come a long way!

It's definitely a good album. I unfortunately missed them when they came through Paris a few months ago.

Still haven't made up my mind but my favourite 2016 releases so far would be (in no particular order):
- metal church
- testament
- Flotsam and jetsam
- tygers of pan tang
- iron savior

Anyone picked up the new tygers of pan tang album? I think it is awesome.

Has anyone heard the new Diamond Head album? It sounds like it was recorded with the same equipment they used in 1980. The production is the most authentic retro sound I've heard in modern times. It's really great!

Haven't picked it up yet, but it's on my want list.

New Megadeth album is my favorite album of 2016 Kiko is an amazing guitar player a lot more suited to megadeth than Chris Broderick

Artillery - Penalty by Perception
Defeated Sanity - Disposal of the Dead/Dharmata
Metal Church - XI

Mine is probably Fates Warning Theories Of Flight. Love this album and one of their better albums overall imo.

Damn I feel like a mediocre fanboy, I have only jammed that album like twice since I got it. Not that it's bad by any means (it's killer), I just haven't been drawn to it again and again like i thought I would be.

All of them are good... but Flotsam and Metal Church are my top picks.

The first two are indeed awesome. I was lucky to pick up the entire discography at one shop in paris last month. A real deal
