Just finished listening.
What a great interview. Truly candid stuff!
Here's something he talked about:
-Would love to be friends with Ted again, but has problems with contacting him.
-Ted wanted to have him as a guest guitarist on one of the later albums and even once tried to call him, but Erik wasn't able to contact him back (I didn't quite understand if this was because Ted didn't answer anymore or if Erik was on the fence about playing on the album).
-He talks about a failed attempt to have a "classic lineup" tour to play both Psycho Surgery and Pathogenic from the beginning to the end. Erik, Guy, Gary and Victor was in. Ted was not.
-He never knew Ted was releasing a Pathogenic vinyl and that made him quite upset.
-He might be a bit harsh towards Ted and Aaron at some points, but some of it is just him joking. Some of it isn't. He gives some criticism to Gary and Guy too, and he put blame on himself too. In the end he'd just love to be friends with everyone. He'd be open playing with Ted and Aaron
-He gives his take on why he, Guy, Gary and Victor left.
-Wasn't that connected with Guy as he wasn't around much.
-Talks a bit about the 2050 project.
-Gives comments on every song on Psycho and Pathogenic. Lots of cool little trivia here! He openly says what players and songs he ripped off in the solos he played. Apparently he played the rhythm guitars on Vitals Fading (if I understood it right).
-Shares a funny story about Tourniquet playing in Vinnie Paul's (Pantera) bar(?), and Vinnie getting angry after hearing Ted and the band play.
-Talks about his drug and alcohol use. Apparently Ted had zero tolerance on stuff like that because of how controversial thing even a curse word in public would be for a Christian band. Refers to Stryper getting tons of criticism when one of them was caught smoking a cigarette. This frustrated Erik a lot.
-Very openly talks about his own stubborness and being "a dick" towards Gary at some point.
-He praises Ted and Gary being amazing musicians. Talks how some lyrics by Guy, Gary and Ted definitely came from God. Says they were channeling Christ there. He is extremely proud of Pathogenic.
-In general he is very proud of his time in Tourniquet. Him remembering Broken Chromosomes gives him goosebumps in the middle of the interview. He is extremely proud of Pathogenic.
.....and lots of other stuff...
Truly an amazing, candid, interview!
