Australian hard rockers AIRBOURNE will release their fourth studio album, "Breakin' Outta Hell", on September 16 via Spinefarm. The disc's title track, which also serves as the first single and video, can be streamed using the SoundCloud widget below.
"Breakin' Outta Hell" was produced by Bob Marlette, who helmed AIRBOURNE's "Runnin' Wild" debut in 2007, and was engineered and mixed by Mike Fraser, who has previously worked with AEROSMITH, VAN HALEN, METALLICA and more.
The "Breakin' Outta Hell" single will be released on July 8.
As previously reported, AIRBOURNE has announced a headline tour of North America for September and October. The trek kicks off in San Diego on September 12 and concludes in Baltimore on October 14, taking in 21 shows along the way.
Driven by a formidable work hard, play hard ethic, the Australian outfit (led into action by brothers Joel and Ryan O'Keeffe, vocalist/lead guitarist and drummer, respectively; guitarist David Roads and bassist Justin Street complete the lineup) has spent the past ten years establishing itself as a true force of nature: living on the road, selling out major venues and appearing on bills with some of rock's most legendary names, and this latest North American run will only add to their reputation for incendiary live performances — maximum energy, maximum entertainment.

Sounds like typical Airbourne to me and that's a good thing in the Toho book. I'll be all over this.
I gotta say though I've learned to distinguish Airbourne from the glut of other AC/DC clones thanks to the AC/DC comp I created. Some of the other bands are almost indistinguishable from each other (Sideburn, Hardbone, Johnny Crash (both versions), Mainline Riders, Sin/City, '77, even Rhino Bucket); sometimes I have to check to see what the actual band playing is. But something about the voice of Airbourne's singer makes them stand out to my ears. They're basically playing AC/DC's musical style but the vocals are different enough from either version of AC/DC that I instantly recognize this band as soon as the vocals start.

They're a bit more aggressive, too, both musically and vocally.

I was pretty luke-warm about these guys in the past, but I've recently revisited their back catalog and have a new-found appreciation for what they do.
I'm in for a new album.

Maybe the top "human" cover is a cardboard slipcase over the "skeleton" cover? Or the regular vs. deluxe covers? I dunno. I just noticed that it was the image they're using on Amazon.
Whatever.

Cool song, I can't believe how much Sam Kinison I hear in Joel O'keeffe!
To me, their sound is well polished, great studio sound. Airbourne is to AC/DC what caramel glaze is to popcorn!

Hmmm, the original post said the 16th. But I see that both Amazon and BB have it for the 23rd. I guess it got pushed back. Oh well.
Guess I'll have to wait an extra week to rock out with my c**k out.

That video is insane ! That's why I enjoy many certain CDs - they go so well with the highway - doing 70 mph - on a nice afternoon is prime - " I'm a crazy M***F***er and I just don't care " - that's the singer for sure. I still think of Lemmy driving their 18 wheeler

This is a really strong album! Every song is great. But damn, some of the lyrics are juvenile! It's like the singer just lost his virginity or something. Haha.
Not that we never heard the same crap from a million other bands in the 80s and stuff, so I guess it fits the style, but still...cheeseball stuff, you know.

I agree. I would hardly say I was offended, but some of the lyrics seemed a little overly raunchy and juvenile. And not even particularly clever about it.
