Well, today I awoke after a good 10 hour sleep -
my place was trashed - had to be cleaned -
put on a James Taylor tribute cd - all instrumenatal
he was great - a New England guy - poet -
Anyone know of good instrumental / casual rock tributes ?

Anyways, I never cared for Heavy Metal tributes -
they just do NOT compare to the originals - in my book -
now I'm 70% metal - 30% is the rest of the music genre -
I also have a cool folk guitar tribute to Fleetwood Mac -
Was thinking about a piano tribute to Billy Joel -
any other ideas, or purchases, made ?

There have been a lot of the String Quartet tributes done...but mostly for metal bands. I usually enjoy them though. Most recent one I picked up was a tribute to TOOL.

I've been tempted to pick up one of those, but then I usually figure it's something I'd listen to once or twice and then shelve it. I have Apocalyptica's Plays Metallica by Four Cellos but I haven't listened to that one in ages.

Thomas Zwijsen released Nylon Maiden I & II and Fear Of The Opera which consist mainly of instrumental version of Maiden songs on classical guitar.

What a weird coincidence. I mention that's I've been tempted to pick up one of these string tributes, and what do I find over the weekend at the local thrift store?

Tribute cds / instrumental 11435815?wid=480&hei=480

For $1.90, I couldn't pass it by.

Quick, someone start a thread about rare Picasso paintings and I'll see if one shows up next weekend.
