Best?

Compare and Contrast any way you like. I know there will be plenty of "If it's good, I like it". So, just pick one.

I had to select hair metal since no one else probably would. :-)

Tough choice between Trad. and Thrash - went with Thrash this time, but it might have very well been Death Metal.

OK, I just voted and I voted Industrial.

After sleaze I probably have more power metal than anything else. 

But I seldom listen to any of it.  Next in line would be industrial and I still listen to that quite a bit.  Ministry, KMFDM, Nine Inch Nails, Stabbing Westward, Gravity Kills, Skrew, Monster Voodoo Machine, God Lives Underwater, and on and on...

I went with Traditional. I could have just as easily went with Hair or Thrash, but to me it's the "best".

Love it all, but Thrash got my vote.

Progressive metal for me, I just love the variety of sounds that are out there in that genre. I would put doom metal next if it were my own "best" genre poll, but seeing as it's not up there, I'd have to go with traditional metal as my runner's up. Then thrash third.

I almost voted for death metal as I felt it'd be underappreciated here, but I went with what my heart said, lol. I love a good bit of death metal, but it's nowhere near my favorite subgenre of metal.

Been listening to more on the traditional side lately. So that gets my vote.

I'm really bad at categories. I looked up two of these (hair, power) and the same bands were listed in both. They had Dio and Ozzy listed under hair metal. When I think of hair metal, I think of Warrant and Poison. Anyway, here is my top 25 metal/hard rock bands list from that other thread. Based on this list, what should be my choice? I was thinking power, but maybe I should choose traditional. It wouldn't be hair, would it?

I voted traditional. I pretty much like it all but death and industrial.

Where is baby metal ? All the old perv's need something to vote for.

I went with traditional cause that covers more ground. My brain can't really wrap around the concept of what band is what genre'. I think labeling music in specifics is silly.

Voted Thrash with Hair metal a runner up. I'll second Tohos sentiment that Sleaze should be up there as well.

Went for trad but as I listen to a lot of black metal and doom, they would probably win if they were there.
