Funny video showing how badly they f*cked this movie in post-production, de-saturating the color out of existence to try and mimic a Batman look. It's like the movie equivalent of brick-walling.

While it certainly does improve the overall look, that was just one of many problems I had with that movie.

The movie utterly sucked ass regardless, but this de-saturation shit has to stop.
Definitely don't care about Batman v. Superman either.

Color corrected or not, don't even get me started on Man of Steel. Half way thru it I was going "Come back, Superman IV: The Quest For Peace! All is forgiven!"

I have to agree with everyone here. Man Of Steel was a poorly executed movie. It boggles my mind that probably the most recognized super hero in the world continuously gets the shaft in cinema.

A lot of movies and tv shows seem to have this washed out look to them lately. The Gotham tv show is a good example.

My opinion: If you want that dark, gritty film noir type of vibe...just release it in B&W, that looks SO much better. If you're going to release it in color, then leave the friggin' color.

As has been mentioned Man Of Steel was absolutely horrible, and one of the worst superhero movies of all time.

Superman as a character is also very bland. It's difficult to get invested in a guy who is not just invincible, but who can, if he so chooses, turn back time by flying really fast and undo every mistake.

My brother and I were talking comic book movies this past weekend, and he was absolutely mystified to learn that I didn't like "Man of Steel" or the last "Dark Knight" movie (Rises, Returns, or whatever the f*ck it was called) at all... I pointed out the bland colors/visuals as one of the main culprits, but also that the recent DC films have also been missing a vital ingredient: fun.
Marvel movies, for the most part, are fun. Look at the Avengers. Yeah, there's tons of action and mass destruction but there's also snappy dialogue and an undercurrent of humor to them.
DC's heroes, meanwhile, are so neck-deep in the grim-n-gritty that all the joy has been sucked right out of them. They're like "These are not COMIC BOOK stories. These are DEADLY SERIOUS modern parables. Our heroes DO NOT SMILE. They will KICK YOUR ASS."
That mindset still works for Batman to an extent, even if it's being troweled on a little thick nowadays, but Superman doesn't fit that "grim & gritty" mold at all. He's supposed to be a brightly colored, slightly dorky Boy Scout, rescuing cats from trees and Lois Lane from falling out of skyscraper windows. That's what made him fun to watch. His last few film appearances have tried to turn him into another deeply tortured super powered soul, which doesn't work for me (and I would imagine for a lot of other former fanboys) as well.

I thought Man of steel was decent the first time I saw it, but turned out to be a poorly constructed roller coaster - fun the first time but wrecks your neck and gives you a headache if you ride it again.

I share FF's opinion on DC's attempts so far.
I've tried sitting through the last Dark Knight movie several times. Sleep settles in a third of the way every time. Boring, drab, and yet another convoluted plot filled with forced dialogue. The whole thing (I presume) takes itself way too seriously like the first two entries. Calm down, Nolan(s).
I also saw part of the last battle of Man of Steel. Doesn't look like my cup of tea. I still have no idea why so many fans hated Superman Returns. That was such an awesome and inspired entry.

I liked the first Batman, the second one was great but the third was weak with a terrible ending that I hated.
I never saw Superman Returns.
Man Of Steel was ok, I guess, but the final battle was way over the top.
I'll see Batman vs Superman someday just not at the theater.
