I have never really listened to him before - but this might be a good way to introduce myself to his discography. I hear good things about him.

So did Tommy Aldridge. Nicko only played on "Putting It Straight" (1977)

Awesome! I have most of Pat's stuff on vinyl already, and some of it also on CD. The box set looks killer though. The new album sounds great though.

Oh yeah, Pat is playing in Dallas this Friday and I'm gonna be in town. I don't have any of his stuff. I used to have his live album years ago. Need to check out his boxset.
Before seeing this, I just so happened to read an old EVH interview that I ended up linking to while doing some research on Charvel guitars from the late 70's. Well anyway, Eddie talks about Pat copying his guitar solo for his own (they were touring together).

Played the vinyl of Live! Go For What You Want (1978) a million times after hearing "Boom, Boom Out Goes The Lights" so many times on FM radio. I wanted to hear more and SORT OF liked his other songs, but not enough to buy more records, until I seen them for pretty cheap being sold USED and grabbed a few. They were good. just not my usual type of thing.
