I say Gene Simmons had more quality tunes

For instance - I think this song was best on "Unmasked" Gene had a easy beat / smooth type of writing - nothing complicated. I think this one was about Cher or Donna Summers - it sounds a touch like 'X-ray Eyes'...but this is much more romantic. and one of his main influences - Beatles. Paul's voice WITHOUT DOUBT complimented Gene's songs.

My favorite Kiss song is Parasite...so I'll be the odd man out and vote for Ace.

I went with Paul. I think his body of work in the band is greater than Gene's

Paul. I once read where Gene claimed to write songs every day and had hundreds that weren't recorded yet. Quantity over quality? nuh huh.
Gene wrote and sang a lot of cool songs, but if I went through every KISS LP, I know Paul Stanley (especially his solo LP over Gene's) I would like more of.

Gene landed a lot of chicks - maybe more than David Lee Roth - KISS chicks had to be more crazier - than other groupies - and, of course, Gene's chicks - darker. Serious. There's NO DOUBT that his tongue - was a source of fascination - for chicks of all ages - waiting in line - gathering in rooms - No wonder he breathed fire and vomitted blood too - His hair reminded me of Nugent - in the early days. Was he a school teacher -

My favorite would be Ace as well but of the two I would have to say I enjoy Gene's songs a tad more than Paul's.

Best song on Hot In The Shade ! Gene scored some high class gals too - leather and nightes and high heels and limos - One of my top 5 KISS lead guitar solos. Yeahaha yes I know !

Ditto. Ace would be my first choice, but given the options, I'd go with Gene too.

"You're my food. Your my water. You got to be the devil's daughter" A cool concert clip - and played fast -I remember going to this tour - lol ! My least favorite solo LP - but it still had many fun songs - Joe Perry - in 1978 even contributed on it - Cheap Trick guitar too -

Another Gene song - good photos of Eric and Bruce - Bruce - at times - looks like Stevie Via - Crossraods DVD - Gene$ has a good quote - "The LACK of money is the root of all evil " Â They were truly the 2nd KISS group - and played on some great songs.

The 80s era of KISS is considered by many to be the weak link in their production chain but for me, it was their best era mainly because I was able to fully appreciate the band by seeing every tour in that decade (too young for the one prior). Really good memories from those concerts.

You know it's much easier imitating Angus - but KISS...not so easy. This cover version is really good ! Piano gives it a 'Christine 16' feel Now this was a Gene song from Asylum CD - the no make-up years... so you can see how this could of been a 1976 song, lets say - KISS were a tough band to cover - they're songs weren't that easy to play - These young guys are good !

Paul... Gene has some good songs, but his song writing ability dropped a deuce later in his career.

I voted Paul. I feel his contributions in Kiss and also solo albums are more enjoyable to my ears than Mr. Simmons. I always kind of felt that if Gene were a solo artist (sans the make up and Demon persona) he would be more of a crooner, like a Tom Jones type of entertainer while Paul would be more like a regular rock star. Just my

A cute cover - by a cute gal - in sunlight/moonlight - not the most complicated song structure / pattern Gene - inspiring a gal, black finger nails, to play bass ( purple ) On a side note, you can really hear the magic of Ace on this one - that lead solo riff - that's overdubbed with another solo - 2:50 sounds like a fast Egyptian wind through time !

I'm no KISS fanatic so I have no reference point for a vote, but I am curious didn't Peter write and sing the bands biggest hit?
After writing I assumed RNR All Night to be the "biggest" hit but?

Even though it came after 'Rock n Roll All Night', I think 'Beth' was a bigger chart hit right from the get go. Peter and someone outside the band wrote it. Because it was all strings and orchestra music, I don't think any members of Kiss even played on it, just Peter's vocals.
'RnR All Night' might be their most well-known song now, but I don't think it started out that way.
