| Only Thor could do a cheap knock off of the Anvil movie with a straight face http://cleorecs.com/home/i-am-thor-documentary-set-to-premiere-at-2015-slamdance-film-festival/ The really sad thing is that morbid curiosity will force me to see this at some point. | |

That reminds me of an old, bad joke: Feeling lonely one saturday night, Thor comes down to Earth from the Asgardian Realm and hooks up with a virginal mortal girl. They spend a very passionate night together and in the morning, the Thunder God sez "Fair Maiden, I must make a confession to thee. I'm Thor." The girl sez "YOU'RE Thor? I'm tho thor I can't even pith!" _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

They were doing some pirate skit and Johnny comes swinging in on a rope and claims, "I am Thor!" Ed says, " YOU'RE Thor?!" To which Johnny grabs his shoulder and claims, "I thertainly am!"

| Heavy Metal - for me - is supposed to be a fiery comet - it flashes - briefly - across the sky - for everyone to say YAAAAA !!!! Not - to be returned to - to milk - and ruin what once was so admired - Classical, Jazz, Blues - sure - but not Heavy Metal - Write a book or something - don't return to the stage - Only a very select of super-chargered groups can pull that off - not Thor. | |

| "I Am Thor" is currently available on Netflix streaming for those who may be interested in checking it out... I watched it earlier today. Some bits made me chuckle but by the end I had to admit I was startin' to admire the dude and his single-minded devotion to his craft. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I just watched it last night and thought at times it was some sort of parody akin to Spinal Tap. Some of the comments the band members make is really hard to take at any face value, regardless of their perception or personal experience. I tried to catch him back in the day, but left half way through a show. The man should've stayed in body building (IMHO). At least in that "realm" he had an actual 15 minutes of fame. _________________ | |

I started watching it - wow, have to agree with you. Can't believe the band/etc thought they would be a big hit selling out arenas - it did venture into Spinal Tap territory before I went to bed lol!

| There are definite similarities to the Anvil doc -- Lips and the boys were similarly delusional about the big time being "right around the corner" for them despite the mounds of evidence that it was never gonna "happen" _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Yep, the difference is Anvil are a much better band. I'd never listened to any Thor in the past. After hearing the songs in the doc, I quickly realized I am not missing anything. Wow, they are terrible!

Yep, the difference is Anvil are a much better band. I'd never listened to any Thor in the past. After hearing the songs in the doc, I quickly realized I am not missing anything. Wow, they are terrible! I mainly knew Thor from "The Power Hour," a nightly metal video program that aired on a UHF music channel called "U-68" in New York, during the mid 80s... I believe U-68 may have imported their programming from Canada's MuchMusic channel, cuz they played videos by a lot of Canadian artists (Lee Aaron, White Wolf, Razor, VoiVod, Helix, etc.), most of whom never really amounted to much in the U.S. ... ...anyway, in addition to playing one of Thor's vids every once in a while, every episode of "Power Hour" opened with a clip of Thor screaming " IT'S THE POWAH HOUR! YEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHH!" and then bending a steel bar in his teeth. My brother and I used to laugh our f**king asses off at that clip every single night! I was kinda hoping that "Power Hour" intro would turn up in the documentary cuz I'm dying to see it again, but no such luck. I have been searching YouTube in vain for it for years now. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I checked this out. It's an interesting watch in a train-wreck sort of way. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I had bought a single from Thor and his Marvel loving band, 'Thunder on the Tundra' the title alone, made me buy it, and the front cover with him flexing his muscle, even at 12 I knew this was parody.
Never bothered buying any of his albums, if I saw one cheap, I would die it, but Thor's band sounds like a third rate garage band that had a second rate guitarist.
