The problem with American Bandstand is it was all lip-sync bullshit like Top Of The Pops in Britain.

Screw that, I'd rather watch clips from shows like The Old Grey Whistle Test or In Concert where the bands actually performed live.

I don't think I ever watched American Bandstand, mainly because of what was featured on it. I had no idea that those bands above appeared on there. Thanks for posting those.

This reminded me of something else that used to come on TV, it was like an even lower budget Solid Gold or Soul Train.... Dance Fever

I remember watching it one time because Lou Ferrigno was on the show and my dad about blew a gasket that I had the show on. After watching this clip I realized I got off easy, he should have beat my ass for watching it.

I remember watching 'Bandstand' on Saturday afternoon's as a kid. Don't remember anyone in particular being on there, especially rock bands. Thanks for posting these. Pretty cool.

I watched 'Dance Fever' too. What can I say? In the 70's and early 80's, we didn't have 200 channels of cable or tv's in every room. 3 or 4 channels and 1 tv. We watched what mom & dad liked or nothing at all.

When I was a kid, "American Bandstand" came on right after the Saturday Morning cartoon block ended, so the "AB" title card was my signal to get up off my a$$ and go play outside. As I got a little older, I have vague memories of leaving it on occasionally, depending on who the featured band of the week was.

Oddly enough, the one band I most vividly remember seeing on "Bandstand," considering the talk about them recently on this forum, was Autograph. Man, I was all excited to see them do "Turn Up The Radio" and then I got pissed cuz all they did was lip sync to the record. That was probably the last time I watched the show. Haha
