Yea, but I'm a lazy b*stard at heart and can barely stand holding ONE job, nevermind two. Update, by the way, I've filled out applications at a couple of the big-box stores near me (Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.) over this past week and no bites yet. Ironic that when I was in my 20s, I worked in a K-Mart while trying to find a "real" job and hated it so much that I couldn't get out fast enough. Now fifteen years later I'm sitting by the phone hoping that one of them will call me back!!!

Even if it's just $10 a week, put something into an IRA, especially if you are young. $10 in an IRA in your 20s can translate into a pretty substantial nest egg when it's time to retire. I'm way ahead of you buddy. Once I have enough saved up I plan on getting one. My dad has stressed saving and not using credit cards (unfortunatly I learned the hard way despite his advise). Young folk, he is right. Make sure you save and invest what you can and DON'T trust in a credit cards they will eat you alive!

| I worked at The Big Wheel (sort of a poor man's K-Mart - it was a Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan entity) and it was a good teenage job...
Funny thing is, if push came to shove I'd put in for Wal Mart. The reason I say that is they must be doing something right because the turnover at the local one is incredibly low. I've seen the same workers since I've lived in Abilene the last 8 years....
I don't mind endlessly repetitious drudgery like stocking shelves. It requires little thought and one can day dream!

It is kind of hard at the Wal-Mart I work at considering I'm not allowed to listen to my own music and the store plays a bunch of pop crap (young country, R&B, dance, etc.). Every now and then they play a good classic rock or pop metal song but that is about 1 every 5 songs. For me I'm so busy drowning out the noise, day dreaming takes a back seat to me trying to replay good songs in my head (which is hard to do with other music playing). But it could be worse, at least I have my breaks and lunch to listen to good music.
