| There is a possibility of a new Sabbath album this year, although my guess would be early next year. | |

Nothing wrong with that at all...unless you want to be blown away like you were as a teenager, which is an unreasonable expectation. As adults we rarely experience things in the same manner; therefore it just leads to disappointment if that's part of your criteria for judging something. Trust me, I'd love to experience albums and movies and books like I did as a teen. Now, though, I've pretty much seen/heard/read it all, or things similar, so they don't have the same impact.

| I can still be blown away by music.
I heard DEPRESSIVE AGE for example for the first time not long ago and their music really blew my mind.
We shouldn't make it a habit to settle for mediocrity and "solid" albums. The metal scene will die that way.

Not saying there is, but pretty much all these "solid" albums that folks talk about aren't good. For a guy who buys tons of albums, you sure are cynical about your own ability to be blown away by music. I don't buy much but even I have had it happen, even from stuff I come across on YouTube.

I don't buy much but even I have had it happen, even from stuff I come across on YouTube. Aren't good to you, maybe. When I say an album is "solid," I dig it. I think it's a good album. You may not, but that's irrelevant to me and my tastes. Anyway, I'm not saying we, as adults, can't be blown away. It happens, but rarely, like I said. At least for me.

i think music has always been like this - there are good albums but then there are the greats that transcend time. _________________

I was really looking forward to this, but wasn't impressed by the sample I heard. This was early on, though, so I hope the final product is better. In somewhat related news, I have a short story in an upcoming anthology to which Karyn Crisis also contributed. Thought that was pretty cool. =)
