| If Metallica does release an album, and it's anything like "Lords of Summer", it will likely be the only album this year I'm looking forward to. | |

Wow ... really? I'm surprised there is nothing else you'd be looking forward to. It's a big scene out there.

Wow ... really? I'm surprised there is nothing else you'd be looking forward to. It's a big scene out there. There are many albums I'll check out...a lot of what's been mentioned here will be on my "to Spotify" list, for sure. But I can't think of anything that I am aware of already that I will be waiting in anticipation for. I will certainly check out Dylan's album of Sinatra covers, because I love Bob Dylan--but I've not really been into his albums in recent years, so who knows. If that new record that W.A.S.P. was supposed to be releasing in like 2013 or whenever surfaces, I will be stoked on that. And actually, if Alice Cooper's pushed-back covers album does come out this year, I am eagerly looking forward to that, for the covers for sure, but mostly for the 4 or 5 new songs that are supposed to be introducing the era and vibe of the covers.

| Also, that's not to say some album won't come out that blows me away. Like, last year my most anticipated release was Ace Frehley's. It was fun enough, but I would say it would barely crack my top 10 if I were making a list. Oppositely, the Kix and AC/DC records, I was moderately into the idea of those, but not expecting a lot, and both of those turned out to be two of my favorite records of the year. I've been spinning Rock or Bust none stop and the Kix record will probably be the album my mind connects to summer of 2014 when I think back on it 10 years from now, I listened to it so much. | |

Where did you hear that it's finished? Or have I missed a press release or something? No press release yet.... they wrote and recorded the album in Paris. The album was recorded at the same studio they recorded Brave New World. Kevin Shirley once again produced the album. As far as where I got the info? The best answer I can give are the clues in the press - entire band in Paris from September to December (documented from pictures of people running into the band). Kevin Shirley in Paris from October to December (per his Facebook site). As far as the studio? Latest Iron Maiden Fan Club mag had a story on Nicko's drums with pictures of his kit (and Nicko) at the same studio Brave New World was recorded. Last but not least, the Iron Maiden Christmas card:

I gotta say that is some impressive detective work. If this is anything like BNW I'm happy. In fact, I'm confident this will be a very good one for them.

especially that we will most likely be heading to a new disappointment. ( I hope not)

| I love all Maiden's reunion stuff, especially A Matter of Life and Death. I wasn't disappointed in The Final Frontier at all. I would be fine with Powerslave part II, but I definitely would rather them keep down this road than make a half-assed attempt at their "classic" sound. | |

| Maiden will never satisfy you like they did when you were younger. I don't know why adults expect to be blown away by things. That's kids' stuff. Don't get me wrong, it does happen from time to time, but rarely. As kids, though, our minds were being blown left and right.
Maiden disappointing you in your 40s says little about Maiden and much more about you.

I was happy to find it in redeemer of souls and I hope I will with the new maiden album.

| Wanting a band that you have fond memories of to make another great album is perfectly normal. There is nothing wrong with that. Why be content with mediocrity? Why wouldn't you want a band to at least attempt to recapture their greatness again? | |

Limp Bizkit (that's right, f*ck you!) Is that the one that I nominated as worst album of 2014 at the start of the year? My god they seem to be having trouble with this one. I'd like to take this opportunity to nominate it for worst album of 2015 (closely followed by whatever half arsed effort Joe Elliot can come up with)
