Speakers for my computer

My left speaker to my computer speakers has bit the dust. They are some cheap Phillips speakers with a subwoofer, a right hand and a left hand. This is most unsatisfactory for me. In the past I have always had Bose and this was a huge step down for me. The sound out of them was tolerable but not great, I am looking for a step up but not sure I want to break the bank either. Can anyone give me a recommendation. I either listen through Bose earbuds on my iPhone or my computer speakers. I have no other stereo system so I want good, if not excellent sound out of these computer speakers.

I have a 3 piece Harmon/Kardon set for my main pc that does the job just fine. They're loud for sure, but I listen to a lot of shitty grind, so you'd better wait for the experts to chime in on clarity & whatnot.

I also have a nice set of Koss bluetooth speakers that I use for whatever laptop I happen to be using. Much better sound & power than the built in speakers.

But I think you need an amplifier. PC soundcards can't drive those, from what I understand?

Those are just speakers, they require amplification.

He needs powered speakers with built-in amplifiers for his particular setup.

You don't need an amp for either set and they are budget priced at $120.

I don't use PC speakers, as they're not as reliable as stereo speakers. I hook up one of my laptops via HDMI to my HDTV, and then I use RCA wires to output the sound to my main stereo.

I don't have a main stereo. I have to use my computer for that. I ended up with Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers. Not sure how to post a picture from Amazon
