I met Udo on the last show of his Holy US tour in Santa Fe. They were opening for Saxon and at the end of the show he was just walking among the crowd watching Saxon. He was very cool. I had my CD and a Sharpee on hand (of course) and he graciously singed my Holy CD and even told me where to go to find bassist Fitty. Udo's brother Peter from Vanize was running U.D.O.s merch table. When I recognized him he was shocked. I asked if Vanize would ever be in the U.S. and he just laughed. Apparently no one knows who they are here. He seemed happy that I recognized him. Sold me a Holy tour shirt for like half price ($15 I think.) _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I hear over and over again how much of a jerk Scott Ian is, but when I met him he was very cool and polite. Everyone in Anthrax was great, but Joey was exceptionally nice and interested in talking to the fans. Biff Byford and all the Saxon guys were extremely nice and talked with us for 30 minutes or so and signed everything. This was a bit of a special case of being trapped in an ice storm, but they were all gentlemen. Lemmy was cool (of course) and so were Mikki and Phil when I met them wandering around looking for beer at Ozzfest. The guys in Holy Grail, Havok, Midnight, Cauldron, Metal Church, Forbidden, were all cool. The Sword were all cool and eager to sign stuff. The Gypsyhawk guys signed everything and wanted to talk about Thin Lizzy with me. They were also super high. So that helps. Believe it or not, but Jon Leon of White Wizzard fame (infamy?) was really nice. He signed all my stuff and grabbed the rest of the band to get a picture with me. | |

I've never heard of him being called a douche.
The one guy whose music I really like that I would never want to meet is Cronos as he seems like a total bell end! I'd certainly rather meet Cronos then say Ted Nugent. You may not like Nugent because of his public image and how the media likes to portray him, but I have met him on three occasions and he was very cordial, polite and gracious on all three of them. Signed every piece of paper we pushed his way. Talked with us about music. He definitely never came off a douchy rock star who is "too cool to talk to you." I read Ted's Facebook page and he hurled an offensive racial slur against a Native American who was offended by Ted's "native" dance, so you can't really blame the media for that one. I Like him as a musician, just not so much as a person.

Never met Scott Ian in person, though I'd like to have. However I did interact with him over the internet back in the day, long before the Belladonna reunion. He had his own merch site where he was selling guitar picks, stickers, etc. I was interested in his guitar picks and he was very cool. He even sent me some free autographed stuff. I also interacted with Joey Belladonna for a while before his reunion with Anthrax. He contacted me after seeing some my NLTM site. He was very cool and told me he was working on a new solo record. I purchased a copy which he sent me and autographed to me. It was VERY independent looking. Haha! But it's cool nonetheless. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

I can't tell whether he's saying stupid crap for attention or if he actually believes it. I don't think Ted actually runs Ted's Facebook page from what I know. Sometimes they quote him, but the way I understand it, he has some staff that takes care of that for him. The reason I know that is because after a mutual friend of ours passed away a couple years ago I contacted Ted via Facebook and the message back was, "I'll let Ted know". In an act of kindness Ted autographed a photo of myself, Ted and my friend and signed it, "Brothers, in the wind he's still alive." So people can say hateful things about the man all they want, but he's been nothing but kind to me. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I'[m glad you've had good experiences with him, but having not had the same experiences as you I see him differently, and I just find it very difficult to respect someone who says things like "racism doesn't exist anymore"
Not everyone who criticizes him is saying "hateful things" about him, they're merely quoting what he's said in the past, and some have good reason to criticize him(even some Republicans like Rand Paul have criticized his comments, like when he called Obama a "sub-human mongrel")
KISS actually kicked Nugent off their 2000 tour because he kept trying to shove his politics down everyone's throats.
I also wouldn't want to meet Dave Mustaine in person, as he comes across as a total nutjob with all of his insane conspiracy theories(like the Aurora shooting being "staged" by the government or some stupid crap like that).

| Fine whatever moving on, i've also heard that George Lynch is not a very nice person to be around(in one of the Metallica books, James Hetfield talked about how badly George treated his guitar tech, threatening to fire him every day) | |

Oh I agree that he has a big mouth. You won't get an argument from me on that. I think he speaks before he thinks sometimes. I also won't defend some of his views. I think he'd be a much better advocate for his causes without the name calling and big mouth. I'm no fan of Obama, but I wouldn't call him a sub-human mongrel. So I understand your point my friend. I was just relating MY experiences with him, since that was what this discussion was about. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

Other than Sykes, the only one that came off as jerky to me was Jani Lane. But I forgive him totally for blowing off Auntie Saxon and me as he was hitting on one of the finest chix I have ever seen.

| The guys in Night Demon are pretty cool dudes. I talked to John Gallagher of Raven when I bought a CD and patch from him really cool dude. Don Doty was very cool when I interviewed him.
I really want to meet Ron Rinehart he always looks happy and just a nice guy.

100% agree! I've seen them 9 times over the years, in a variety of cities (D.C., Baltimore, Charlotte, Austin, Dallas, Seattle (3x), Chicago) and they were always gracious. When they played Hammerjacks in 1992 Ty took me on stage before the gig and showed me his guitar rig and all the different guitars, he had about 12 of them on stage because of all the different tunings they use. The best memory though was hanging out with Doug and Bruce Franklin from Trouble after the Chicago concert on the Ogre Tones tour. I ran into Bruce in the crowd before the show, we talked about all things Trouble...then we went and hung out with Doug for an hour or so. Good memories. The funny thing is I was on a business trip for work, I just lucked out that King's X happened to be playing that week. |
