| Great topic!
The Who & Blackfoot Styx at "Country Jam" The Stranglers with Single Bullet Theory (a local pomprock band with perms and red stretch pants- man did they get heckled!)
there is a local legend that the Ramones once opened here for Foreigner, but I didn't see it, not sure it's true.

I think that Exodus toured in Australia as a supporting band to The Haunted! Yeah i saw that tour, i was only there for Exodus but hung around for the Haunted. But the real odd thing about that was the opening band for both was hyped Australian Melodeath/Metalcore band I Killed The Prom Queen, while the band's sound wasn't horrible although it was very trendy the thrashers couldn't get passed their emo fringes they were subjected to worst abuse i've ever seen for a support band.

They were the opening act for the Clash of the Titans tour (Anthrax/Slayer/Megadeth) and really seemed out of place. Much like Soundgarden & GnR, they just didn't have the right look or sound for a "metal" show.

| My wife was a rep for a temp agency in Sac-town and whenever a big concert came to town, they would contact the temp agency to staff the beer garden and what not. Well, all the employees (actual reps and staff of the temp agency) would of course "take the jobs" along with spouses so we could go to the concerts. So we finally land some for once, I'm all excited.... until I see the ticket. Cake opening for Hootie And The Blowfish. Needless to say, I never left the beer booth. There I was, Mr. Square peg pouring brews from the tap at ninja speed to already hammered concert goers. It was pretty funny though, cuz they actually paid money to go, I actually got paid....to go! | |

I heard the Motley Crue/Stryper rumor as well. An older guy I knew back in 84 or so told me that they were touring together, and what did I think of these "supposed Christians" in Stryper now? I told him that it sounded like a great opportunity for Stryper to share the gospel. He shut up in a hurry.
