In case you may not know, it's what younger folks call singing.
Versus "dirties" I suppose.
Anyone else think it sounds dumb?

Do they mean "cleans" like without harsh, screamy vocals? I've heard it referred to as "clean vocals", without the 's' if that's the same thing. Who knows what the kids are talking about these days.

Young people talk differently from us and like different music. It's called middle age.

That makes it not stupid I suppose.
I liked death metal vocals and my parents didn't, but I didn't call it "dirties".

Back in high school, one of my friend's dad called it "heavy iron" music. We still laugh about it to this day.

When my kids were babies, we often disposed of the "dirties" and put on fresh "cleans".

Hey Shawn, I really liked those cleans you did with K-OCTAVE. Those were really good cleans. Done just the way I like them. Nice and clean.

I guess it depends on the area.

I call them clean vocals. People seem to know what i'm reffering to when I use the word in that context. That's all I care about.

Never really heard that term. I call singing, singing; growling, growling; and screaming, screaming. Course, I'm an oddball so who am I to judge?

I jumped on this because I thought it was a weightlifting thread!
Yes, it sounds dumb. It's generational. All this shortening of words/phrases and then adding an s at the end. It's like Gollum is teaching grammar.

Probably on the same level, I've seen "feels" used before instead of "feelings": i.e. "Looking at these photos gives me lots of feels" or "The feels are real". Sounds weird and a bit disturbing to me, LOL.

The kind of person who unironically talks about their "feels" is basically asking to be beaten with a rough hewn chunk of lumber. Remember: splinters TOWARDS the face.
I think this "cleans" thing may be a horrible ploy on the part of the Clorox brand. They want us to be thinking about "whiter whites" and "bolder colors" even while we listen to our favorite music. THE BASTARDS!

Does that mean that metal with "cleans" is technically world music?
