Latest CD Purchase

Went to Second Spin yesterday, this is what I got.

BLACK SABBATH -- BLACK SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH @ $1.69
EXCITER -- New Testament
FATES WARNING -- Night on Broken [Bonus Tracks - Remastered]
GRAVE DIGGER -- Grave Digger
JACOB'S DREAM -- Drama of the Ages [completes my collection, unless they have put out more than 3]
JUDAS PRIEST -- Painkiller @ $4.24
KREATOR -- Extreme Agression
RUNNING WILD --Victory @ $4.94
SANCTUARY -- Into the Mirror Black
GUNS N' ROSES --Use Your Illusion II-World Tour 1992 in Tokyo DVD @$7.64
IRON MAIDEN--Raising Hell DVD @$6.79

ALICE COOPER -- Dirty Diamonds [Digipack]
good disc. Back to bare bones basic rock and roll. If you like this one, get Eyes of Alice Cooper as it is similar and even better IMO

ANNIHILATOR -- Schizo Deluxe [Bonus Tracks]
Good disc, not their best though. I really miss Comeau. His voice seemed more fitted for Annihilator. However, this disc is good and still enjoyable.

BLACK SABBATH -- BLACK SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH @ $1.69
Careful there are some really poor bootlegs out there of the Sabbath catalog. Stick to the original Warner Bros. release or the recent Castle remasters. Most others have poor quality artwork and sound.

EXCITER -- New Testament
Sweet! I still need to get this one.

FATES WARNING -- Night on Broken [Bonus Tracks - Remastered]
Good disc. Very Maiden-esque. The remastering really helped this disc.

GRAVE DIGGER -- Grave Digger
Brilliant, dark, moody power metal.

JACOB'S DREAM -- Drama of the Ages [completes my collection, unless they have put out more than 3]
They only have three albums on Metal Blade, and then their independent CD they released before siging to metal Blade. Let me know what you think of this disc. Chaz is a VERY different style vocalist.

JUDAS PRIEST -- Painkiller @ $4.24
Priest rules!

KREATOR -- Extreme Agression
Great classic thrash album!

RUNNING WILD --Victory @ $4.94
Good German speed/power metal. Not their best album, but a good CD nonetheless.

SANCTUARY -- Into the Mirror Black
Billiant, dark and moody traditional heavy metal!

GUNS N' ROSES --Use Your Illusion II-World Tour 1992 in Tokyo DVD @$7.64
Don't have this, can't really comment.

IRON MAIDEN--Raising Hell DVD @$6.79
Don't have this, can't really comment but heck, it's Maiden!

I think he was looking for people's comments on the individual CDs he purchased. Actually, I told him to start a thread about it, cause he PM'ed me the list and asked my opinion.

Thanks for everyone's comments. I still consider myself a neophyte metalhead, I just basically listen to anything and everything metal that I can get my hands on. I have very little facts in my head as to 'Is this band any good?', 'Can this vocalist hit the note right or not', production being thin, or what have you. I just listen. I'm kind of like Godswizard over at the CMR, or Mikey....He like's it all. (well most of it).

He tried to sound like THE ROLLING STONES on this one and i still dont know why.
ANNIHILATOR -- Schizo Deluxe [Bonus Tracks]
Not bad
BLACK SABBATH -- BLACK SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH @ $1.69
A classic. One of my fave BS with OZZY album. Great price you payed.
EXCITER -- New Testament
Old songs rerecorded by different singer. Not bad at all.
FATES WARNING -- Night on Broken [Bonus Tracks - Remastered]
Classic.
GRAVE DIGGER -- Grave Digger
One of the more darker GD album but love it.
JACOB'S DREAM -- Drama of the Ages [completes my collection, unless they have put out more than 3]

ANNIHILATOR -- Schizo Deluxe [Bonus Tracks]
this is a good disc if you are already an Annihilator fan.

BLACK SABBATH -- BLACK SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH @ $1.69
my very favorite Black Sabbath album.

EXCITER -- New Testament
there are a few better Exciter discs, but this one is good too.

outstanding band. just about every release is stellar.

never could get into them.

any Halford-era Priest is a good buy. that's pretty obvious.

my favorite Kreator of all time & one of the top thrash albums of all time!

the drums sounded awful on this one. i prefer the ealier RW stuff.

SANCTUARY -- Into the Mirror Black
a very classy album!

mc666, if you give Awaken the Guardian (FW's best album) a few spins, it should grow on you.

Good stuff there Bob.But the cream of the crop has got to be the KREATOR disc.One of the best thrash albums ever.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to listening to all of 'em, especially the Kreator disc. My collection of them is very sadly lacking. I only have Endorama, and Live Kreation Revisioned Glory, which is a Double Live CD, DVD, and a Poster. I think of all the CD's in my collection besides Jacob's Dream, I have more Grave Digger than anything else. I have a lot more to get though before I am even close to having a complete Grave Digger Collection.

as far as Kreator...since Extreme Aggression is their best, you will undoubtedly become a rabid fan. much much much better than Endorama (which still was a good album).
