Just read that Wayne Gardner, one half of the outstanding prog band Magellan, committed suicide. Such a shame. Magellan is such a great band, vastly underrated. They have a very distinct style, with touches of Rush and Pink Floyd mixed in. Unfortunately they haven't put out a full-length album in a long time, but in the last few years they've been releasing one-off digital singles, the latest being "Cynic's Anthem," which I actually just downloaded (because I didn't know it had been released).
Either way, great band, great loss, though one that will sadly not resonate in a manner consistent with Wayne's immense talent. =(

That is sad news indeed!!!!!!! I'm a big fan of the first three albums. Nothing like a little History Prog. I didn't know that they were still releasing music.

Yeah, it's unfortunate. I wonder if Trent will carry on.

I hope so. It looked like he was doing a lot of work with members of Chicago amongst other things.
I bought that James Murphy album because he was on it.

RIP
I never owned any Magellan, even though I was at one time a MAJOR Magna Carta Records fan...but I did own Explorer's Club, which the Gardner's spearheaded, if I recall.

Stormspell, are you located in San Jose, CA? Do you you remember how much Greg Stone used to play them on his show Stone Trek? Magellan, Giraffe and Kevin Gilbert used to get a lot of air time.

Chewie: I am in San Jose but I'm an European transplant. Moved here not so long ago and haven't listened to that radio station. I used to listen to KKGN while driving around, but once it got sold and the new owners put Rush Limbaugh on it haven't listened to radio at all...
