Jason Bonham just posted this: https://www.facebook.com/CaliforniaBreed
Right now they have a small clip on their Facebook page. Not much, but if it is any indication of the what they are going to do, then I am in.

I dunno. I eagerly dove head first into the Black Country Communion stuff and it's come up short in the long haul. I'm not getting my hopes up for this new one. And someone please tell Glenn to lay off the hair gel. That's not a good look for a 60+ year old man.

I loved all of BCC stuff, so this sounds like it is right up my alley. And I agree with the hairgel thing.

Yea right? You know how disappointed I was when I discovered noone from The Mars Volta is from Mars.
I guess Glenn and Jason have spent enough time in LA to considder themselves locals.

My daughter is named Marlayna and we have called her Mars since she was in pampers. She acts like she is from another planet most of the time. . and nobody is from California anyways. All us natives have bailed the sinking ship

Bump for this week's release. Here's an official video for all y'all...
Dunno that I'm sold on this band myself. Glenn's to over-the-top for my tastes.

I like Black Country Communion. California Breed does absolutely zero for me. Generic modern-rock guitar playing. People are comparing it to Sound Garden. I don't hear that either, not that I'm really a fan of SG.
One of my co-workers is a HUGE Black Country Communion and he said he doesn't like Calfornia Breed at all. He spun this one in the office till I was sick of it and finally said, "there's a couple songs I like but the rest just annoy me."

Glenn has a great voice but most of his projects I usually don't end up loving. Seems like a cool guy though. I haven't listened to CB yet but I will soon. I'm not excited for it, but will give it a shot. I like the first BCC album a lot, the second release less so and never bothered with the third because I didn't like what they posted online.

So it looks like Jason Bonham had enough of Glenn getting hair gel all over the studio ...
Quote :
Jason Bonham has bowed out of California Breed, the band he formed with Glenn Hughes, ahead of their debut UK tour.
And although it's not confirmed the move is permanent, the drummer has suggested he won't be back.
Former Queens Of The Stone Age sticksman Joey Castillo has been named as his replacement "for all upcoming dates." The three-piece, which also includes young guitarist Andrew Watt, add in a statement: "It became clear that Jason's professional commitments would prevent him from being able to tour with the band."
Bonham is currently touring the US with Sammy Hagar and he's been involved in tentative rehearsals with Phil Collins. The son of Led Zeppelin icon John Bonham says via Facebook: "I love those guys – but it wasn't going to work out for me. I will support them as I love the band I helped create, and Joey is great. Good luck, guys."

Really? I thought it was ok from what I heard. I don't own the CD yet, so I might need to get it and give it some spin time.

I saw that they posted something about the tour drummer, and I wonder what happened to Jason.

And they are now done, before I ever even heard of them
California Breed, the band formed in 2013 by Glenn Hughes, Jason Bonham and guitarist Andrew Watt, have called it quits, according to an online post from Watt. "To the California Breed fans here, I put everything I had into this band. All I can say is I was in it for the long haul," he wrote. "I have a lot of new music for you guys...going to be announcing my plans soon."
"I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you supporting us, buying our music, coming to our shows," he adds. "This is not the end...it is truly the beginning...cannot wait to continue the quest to bring rock n roll back to the people that are hungry for it.
"What an amazing learning experience for me here and introduction to an amazing world of people and fans that share love for the same thing."

This is a really good album. But clearly Hughes has some issues keeping shit together.

That's what I'm thinking too. I didn't care much for this new band, but look at Glenn's previous track record over the years. He really hasn't been able to stay with any one group or line-up since Deep Purple.

Sigh. I think Glenn is one of those guys living in some delusion that everyone around him has problems, but he is the fount of peace and wisdom. I know some women like that on Facebook.
