| The Tony Martin thread got onto Glenn Hughes, so I figured I'd just start a Hughes thread. What an amazing careeer! Trapeze was an early metal influence; and the song "Jury" from the Medusa album was an influence on the early Judas Priest sound (Dave Holland played on that song). Then Purple of course. But after that he guested on a whole bunch of excellent albums. Iommi's 7th Star of course; but also a bunch of really good Heavyish AOR albums. Gary Moore's "Run for Cover". "Hughes Thrall" with Pat Thrall. Phenomena I & II (also Ray Gillen). John Norum's "Face the Truth". Also sung with George Lynch, Brazen Abbott, and others; in addition to his collaberations with Iommi and JLT. Plus many fine solo albums. Hard to keep track of it all...I'm glad he's still alive. | |

| I just put in an order for "Music for the Divine." Glenn Hughes is a legend no doubt in hard rock/metal. | |

| Being a huge Purple fan, I respect his work with them after Gillan left. However, I think it would have worked better with just Coverdale singing. But once again, I love Seventh Star. Glenn also guests on the excellent new Quiet Riot album, "Rehab". A very talented man. |

| So freakin' weird. I was gonna start this thread when I got home from work!! Figure a cool ex-Minnesotan would beat me to it (even if he lives on the evil side of the cheddar curtain now).
Hughes has one of the premier voices in hard rock/metal and goes kind of unappreciated in the U.S. The guy puts out a solo album every year and collaberates or sings on 3 or 4 more every year. Hardest working guy in rock, if ya ask me. And he has to be about 90 by now! haha. Anyways, HUGE HUGHES fan here. I was listening to "Return of Crystal Karma" on the way home, and that thing flat-out rips!!!!! Go get it if you are nto perfection. |

| And on top of all that, he also tours constantly in South America, Asia, and Europe. |
