Always look forward to new Hirax. Was curious how good they would be without Glenn Rogers, who wrote the lion's share of the songs from New Age of Terror through El Rostro de la Muerte. These clips sound great.

The music sounds good, but I never could get into Katon's vocals...

Hirax is, I think, the only thrash band that I've never checked out beyond their original 80s releases.
I like the 80s stuff too...just never really got around to anything else yet.

I like the 80s stuff too but i think now they are even better. Love those mini cd´s they released or EL ROSTRO DE LA MUERTE, here a link:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8SeR-LrHVg . Also i got a very nice live cd that comes with a dvd records at KEEP IT TRUE i believe, a very intense show. I saw them in germany in 2003 at a club with STORMWITCH and DESTRUCTOR but i dont remember much because i was to drunk, shame

I think they are better now than in the 80's as well. "New Age of Terror" is one of my all time favorites. Just a great heavy metal release.

El Rotro de la muerte is awesome! I really like the New age of terror also. I like the 80's stuff as well but I think the new stuff is better in my opinion.
I actually really like Katon's vocals I thought they were quite unique in my opinion. Well the good thing about Hirax is that I know whatever they release musically is going to be awesome I don't see them adding any like groove metal elements or anything like that.
The music sounds good, but I never could get into Katon's vocals...
To me, Katon's vocals is the essence of the whole band.
The first song I heard from Hirax was Lucifer's Infierno. The moment Katon opened his mouth "ARMAGEDDON IS HERE" I was hooked. Katon is one of those singers who is able to put 110% power and force into his vocals. He handles his voice pretty well but he lets it to crack and crumble just enough to give it the edge I miss from tons of metal vocalists.
He has his mannerisms what comes to vocal melodies though. I think I've heard several songs where the vocals are sung in the same rhythm and melody.
The Assassins of War and Chaos & Brutality EPs are some of the best modern metal records. I love The New Age of Terror too.
There aren't many bands that have been able to put their best records 20 years after their debut. 99% of the time I claim bands have made their best records in the 80's (or in the beginning of the 90's) but Hirax's newer albums are waaaay better than the old albums.
Seems like quite a few here prefer the newer albums a bit more and while I think they're great their earlier 80s crossover/thrash stuff is what I really like.
