- The Nirvana biography was that the one written by Everett True? Ive read that one.... the only bit here you posted I didnt know was the last bit about Courtney and Billy Corgan. Also from my reading everything was falling apart for Kurt very errie indeed.
Yeah the Everett True book. A good long read, even if I disagreed with some of the groups he slagged on musically. He seemed pretty straight and honest about everything. The big takeaway I got from his friendship with Love was that she was the ultimate social climber. Whoever was "hot" at the time got her attention. - Quote :
- No idea if THIS story is true, but find it strange I never heard a major backlash against it in the press from the Nirvana "camp" to clear Courtney.
The Nirvana "camp" is basically Courtney and her people fighting Dave and Krist. So there is no unified camp as it pertains to Nirvana. It's amazing that those anniversary Nirvana re-issues were even able to see release based on the fighting between everyone. MTV early on were funding this documentary but bailed when it started becoming the Courtney had Kurt murdered show.

Yup I read the Everett True book it was a long sometimes dry read but it did give a peek on what was going on behind the scenes where as alot of the other books ive read did not. I am surprised bout the re-releases too but alot of those bonus recordings I already have either on the box set or through Unofficial releases. I had a friend who was a Nirvana enthusiast who had spent some time talking to the officer who said he was murdered he was on the doc (the cop not my buddy) and after talking to the cop he was convinced Kurt was murdered. Courtney seemed to view Kurt as a cash cow cuz all she wanted was fame and all that it came with. I guess she's working on an autobiography Id like to read that.

| Just a sidenote/perspective: Smack is a terrible drug that will make people do things that normally most people would think are not possible from that person. And smack was a monster in that time period [still is] and musical culture. | |

| Heroin addiction also ran rampant throughout the jazz world during the 40s, 50s and 60s. Prestige Records was known as the "junkie label" and would pay their artists in cash so they could buy drugs from their in-house dealer. The artist gets the cash, goes into the back room and gives it all to the drug dealer who in turn gave a kickback to the record label.
The number of jazz artists lost to heroin is even larger than rock artists who succumbed to the drug.

| The other thing that heroin tends to do is make you talk a load of rubbish. Is it possible that Courtney was sitting in a drug den with El Duce one day and say something like "I hate Kurt! I'll give you 50 grand if you kill him!"? I'd say yeah, it's possible. But I don't believe for one second that it would have been a credible or serious plan. | |

| I concur with both of you. But it really does open up a credible avenue of thought, as opposed to wacky conspiracies. | |

That's about as much plausibility as I could muster for this story. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.
