More on that Mrs. Hippie project...
The hell? Vocalist is Joacim Cans of Hammerfall! Stoner rock from '99, very strange twist. Not bad. Can't find any samples on youtube to share, though.

I think I owned a copy of that at one time. I remember buying a box of cds on ebay and that one was in there along with a bunch of other stuff on the Metal Blade label. Some I kept, some I didn't. This was one of the ones I didn't. Don't recall much of it other than that though.

Serious roll here, man. Some classic stuff top to bottom right there.
Thanks. I tried my best to pick up "4 of a Kind" by D.R.I., but strangely enough, that one's getting really hard to find nowadays. For a good price, anyways.
Probably buy that on iTunes before I would buy a physical copy for $25!

It's actually not bad in a weird way. You've got this raw heavy rock sound, kind of messy, kind of doomy, mixed with Joacim's clean power melodies, and it surprisingly works for the most part. Not something I'd listen to again, perhaps, but an interesting footnote in Hammerfall history. And it was dirt cheap.

I bought Aerosmith's Pump today at a thrift store. I haven't owned it since I had the tape as a kid.
When I opened the case to make sure the CD was in there, I noticed that in addition to the Pump disc, there was also the CD single for "Jaded" in the case as well. I took that out and left that there. I don't want it contaminating my other CDs.

I hope, for no reason, that 8 tracks have a vinyl-like comeback. 2014 could be their year.
When I was a kid, the stereo my parents had included an 8 track player, so I'd always buy them when I'd see them at yard sales. I had several KISS and Aerosmith that I listened to regularly. I'm pretty sure I was the only 10-year-old kid around rocking out to 8 tracks in 1988?

I have a player, but we've been slimming down on "stuff" around here so I threw all my tapes out. What's difficult with eights is that you can never be sure if you have a bootleg or not.

Got my copy of Evile-Skull in today, and I'm already on the second listen of it. After being dormant for years in collecting new music, this is literally a breath of fresh air. Did I mention that I love this album?
