Just got back from Carnival of Madness and what a show... Skillet stole the show and sounded AMAZING!! In this Moment always puts on a heck of a show and are a must see in my eyes, my only complaint was they werent on long enough. Shinedown always sounds impressive and has killer lighting and all that good stuff.

Sevendust...... O Sevendust.. WHoever did your sound, SHOULD BE FIRED!! The bass cracking was so bad that we all had to retreat back like 50ft to even tolerate it. It was so loud and thumping it felt like my heart was gonna explode hahahah!!!

I'm not a big Skillet fan but I've seen them live a few times since Collide and they do put on a fantastic show. John is damn animated with that bass and just slams it

I remember seeing them in Spirit West Coast about five years ago and they told us all "security says calm down, cut the mosh. Whatever. Don't shoot the messenger. NOW LET ME SEE HOW HIGH YOU CAN JUUUUUMP etc..." It was the one thing that made the whole weekend worthwhile.

A couple songs he put his bass away and Im like NO BASS PLAYER hahahah!!! The two guys playing the strings sounded incredible...

Hell yes you should bother with that guy. He is awesome.

His music is fun as hell, but even if you don't dig on his tunes (I really don't understand how anyone doesn't?!), he is fun as hell live. Tons of energy and people just going nuts.

However--when I saw him, he was, you know, the headliner. There weren't a bunch of dudes there specifically to see one of the greatest bands of all time after him. So who knows how his set before Sabbath will be.

And if you will be there anyway, I don't think you've got much to lose.

That was the stupidest opening act I've ever seen. Andrew WK just stood at an elevated dj booth and played records for 45 minutes. No band. No performance. Just him. Playing other people's songs. With blinking lights. Granted, he played some good tunes, but they could have gotten the same effect with an ipod.

If there are Andrew WK fans (there's gotta be a few, right?) who came to see him and hear 'Party Hard', they went away disappointed to say the least.

That is unfortunate. I assumed he was opening for them for real. Like playing a set.

It seemed really odd to me. And for all I know, it wasn't even him. It could have been anyone in white pants, white t-shirt, long black hair and sunglasses. Cool

Forgot to post previously, but I worked this weekend at the local metalfest that had Into Eternity headline on Friday night and 3 Inches Of Blood on Saturday. Not bad for our little town of around 7000 people in the middle of nowhere. About 300 people showed up for the shows.

Next show for me is September 19 and driving into Calgary to go check out Exciter and Omen along with a slew of other bands.
