Best NEW album by OLD guard?

This is not a "style to style" comparison of albums, so don't vote that way.

This is a question of which band, after 30+ years in the game, put out the best album overall in terms of what you/we think they're capable of. Who really drove it home?

I listed the latest albums by some pretty big names...so which, in terms of quality and legacy, do you think is the best?

I'll go with Testament.

That is a tough one..... I'd go with either Sabbath, Metallica or Testament. I need to hear the new Queensryche CD at home on my system to see how it stacks up to the competition.

I haven't heard everything on the list yet but I'm still listening to KISS' Monster on a pretty regular basis months after its release, so it gets my vote... cuz I'm a fanboy

Journey followed by Pretty Maids, both of those need to be heard desperately if they haven't been already.

Heard only Megadave, voted for him.

I do not know if I am eligible to vote, I have heard only Black Sabbath 13 and Megadeth Super Collider, and I liked both and that Sabbath album is definitely a classic.

It was a toss-up between Sabbath and MegaDave, but my inner fanboy went with Super Collider. I'm really liking this album.

Van Halen's A Different Kind of Truth should get an honorable mention in there too.

I've only heard KISS, Metallica , Testament and Megadeth . Out of those, I gotta go with KISS because, like Freddy, I'm a big time fanboy.

What about Overkill's Electric Age? Doesn't matter much, though, since I would have voted Sabbath either way. VH is a close second.

Of the albums I've heard on the list I would vote for the Black Sabbath.

On that list I went w/Sabbath, but here's a few I'd pick over that;

Judas Priest - Angel of Retribution
Megadeth - The System Has Failed
Saxon - Lionheart
Saint - Hell Blade

If we're gonna stretch it then also W.A.S.P. - Babylon...

Looks like 15 is the maximum number of poll options.

Went with Testament but 'deth, Pretty Maids, Journey, Whitesnake, Sabbath and even Night Ranger are all good albums.

I would throw the new Deep Purple album Now What?! onto that list as well.

Take out Pretty Maids, Bon Jovi and Night Ranger. Noone's voting for them anyway.

New UDO is surprisingly good, definitely it has overcome my expectations.

Actually, Pretty Maids is really good. Smokes the new Masterplan for sure.

Geez, I've barely heard any on this list, and honestly, I don't think I plan on listening to them either.  I think I'll refrain.  Sabbath has a comfortable lead anyway.

I voted Sabbath, think that Anthrax Worship Music deserves a mention.
