I recall reading an ad in a mag....Ratt singer and Cinderella drummer....thought "nah...no interest" Years later, got the cd and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. _________________

When I was a kid I had a habit of recording the radio onto tape. I have a cassette tape of the very first time rock music ever got my attention on the radio--first song was AC/DC's Big Guns from Last Action Hero. Cry No More was one of those songs. It hit me hard and I bought the actual album on cassette soon after. The whole album is full of balls--just pure rock 'n roll with a lot of Aerosmith vibes. I actually enjoy it more than early Ratt, believe it or not. Anyway, it's good to have the album again--it's been around 15 years since I last heard it!

Yeah, that's a damn good album. Second one is good, too. I've owned that album twice. Once as a new release, then again years later when I found a used copy. Never took a shine to it however. I think it's Pearcy's voice. I can only take him in small doses in Ratt. Even less anywhere else. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. How the heck did you find out about that album???? I thought I was the only person on the planet who even knew about Radio Stars much less the second album. I've had their Songs For Swinging Lovers for a long time and liked it. Lately I've been putting together a flash drive for my car with vintage Glam rock on it, and since the Radio Stars were related to Jet(uk), Sparks, and Marc Bolan I figured I'd better get their second album too.

| jstate, did you get the Three Times Dope for a decent price? I've been waiting and assuming they would reissue that, like K Solo, D-Nice and Main Source. Pretty much the main hip hop albums, to me, that still need to be reissued are the Three Times Dope, Dana Dane with Fame and Chil Ali (although that one is not too expensive, comparitively...$30ish, on Amazon, is still to much for me). | |

| And finally, if you are putting together a glam collection, you have to add the Velvet Tinmine compilation to it. Some excellent lesser known stuff on there, and all of it fun. | |

| Radio Stars also have a great comp of their 45s, b-sides, and unreleased stuff - awesomely titled Somewhere There Is A Place For US. - Quote :

About 25.00 if I factor in the discounts and such. Plus it was off credits from secondspin's Beatles set debacle I went through. So a nice score. It's a funny one since it yo-yos down to fourty then goes back up to the hundred range. My understanding is that the Arista label is one of those legal black-holes that make re-issues impossible. Sucks cause this is one of those albums that should be heard more. I actually got that Dana Dane album years back off ebay when a seller had no idea what they had and listed it for a few bucks. My big want that I have left is that first MC Twist record. That one never comes down at all. Speaking of old-school stuff just scored this big want of mine..... Thanks, suggestions are appreciated as I didn't really follow that scene back then. I'll look for that.
