That's how I discovered them; I went looking for Sacrifyx through Google (I was really hoping that record was real) and it turns out it is indeed a modification of the band's logo. Here's the IMDB entry: "The fictional The Dark Book album that Terry shows to Glen features the logo for (the very real) Canadian thrash metal band Sacrifice." Very glad this worked out because I would put their music right up their with Overkill, and with me that's saying a lot.

I had forgotten about the connection to The Gate. Great flick and band.
Apocalypse Inside is one of my favorite albums. A top ten all-time for sure. Just love the groove they layered in there with that one.

Soldiers Of Misfortune is essential thrash, IMO. Their last album (The Ones I Condemn) was amazing as well.

Yeah I've been listening to Misfortune on Rhapsody. I don't understand how these guys were so under the radar. The vocals are this awesome in-between of shout and harsh scream, there's some melody, the guitars fly around with stellar tone, the drummer is crazy sporadic, the bass is all over and just thuds on the breakdowns, on and on I could go.
Just sucks that the cheapest I've found CDs is 35 bucks each.

I love the music, seriously intense but the vocals keep me from listening a lot which is strange as I listen to a lot of thrash. Just something in them I can't explain.

Forward to Termination and Soldiers of Misfortune are their best. Both albums are classics!

I heard some awesome news on Thursday morning...they're coming to play a live show in my province.
My workplace does not allow me to book time off work. Anvil plays a live show near me this summer (at a venue much closer to where I live), but I'm not allowed to book time off of work to attend it. I work Monday to Friday, and I work night shifts. Anvil's show is on a Wednesday night.
Sacrifice plays a live show about a five hour drive from where I live this September, and it's on a Sunday night, so it doesn't interfere with my work schedule. All I have to do is wake up early the next morning, and I can still get to work on time.
I'm so stoked that I will finally be able to see Sacrifice live!

Excellent band! I don't think they've released a bad album. Torment is Fire is a bit raw and rugged, but it shows potential.
I agree with Lurideath, Soldiers of Misfortune is where they really hit their stride. Forward to Termination is also a monster album.

I saw them live on Sunday night, and they were incredible.
I also discuss them in my new YouTube video.

I am actually listening to Soldiers of Misfortune right now. Great album, but I think Forward to Termination is their best.

Their albums were reissued last year, so you should be able to get them at a more reasonable price now.
