| Ancient Christian Wisdom and Aaron Beck's Cognitive Therapy: A Meeting of Minds - Trader
The first few chapters have blown my mind, can't wait to dig into the meaty parts. At one point a few months ago, a used copy of this book was selling for over $3,000(!) on Amazon. Still close to $400 now. Should have ordered a bunch of copies when I got it.

| Finished another Xanth novel and immediatly started another: These novels are very easy reads (if somewhat predictable) and since it's been almost 10 years since I read them the stories are still fresh. When I'm able to rembember the end of the book then I will probably stop reading the old novels and catch up with the two most recent. | |

Marvel Comics: The Untold Story by Sean Howe - traces the history of Stan Lee's four color empire from its humble late 1950s beginnings to the multimedia powerhouse of today. Tons of geek trivia, right up my alley. I'm about 3/4 of the way thru this book and all I can say is wow, I had no idea what a cut-throat business comics can be behind the scenes... kinda makes me glad that I didn't try to pursue a career in that industry (which was the dream when I was a comic-addicted kid), cuz I probably would've been eaten alive. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I am currently reading The Hobbit. I have not read this book since about junior high. I actually found my original copy on my parents bookshelf, which is what prompted the read. | |

| I have most of those Piers Anthony books too, DB! Read almost all of them 2 or 3 times. Predictable, yes, but enjoyable nonetheless.

You are quite right. Though the last few recent ones I read (I'm two behind) show that he is becoming more of a dirty old man. Instead of hinting at possible sex between characters (which has been a staple in almost all his Xanth novels), he gets all but pornographic in his detail. This is my second time reading through them (third time with Spell For Chameleon and Zombie Lover if I decide to read as far as that one). It's been over 5 years so it's almost like reading them anew. I'm going to go as far as A Roc And A Hard Place and see where I want to go from there. I have now started:

| "Fargo Rock City: A Heavy Metal Odyssey in Rural North Dakota" by Chuck Klosterman
Since he published this debut a few years back Chuck Klosterman has gone on to become an in-demand pop culture writer, music critic, and sometimes VH1 commentator ("I Love the '80s"). In this book he recalls his formative years growing up in a hick town, obsessed with Poison, GNR, and the like.
Some funny stuff to be sure, even though Chuck appears to have grown up into one of those hipster indie-music douches who looks back at his hair-metal period as "silly." So in other words, if you're one of those tr00-arkayne-steele-for-life types this book is just gonna piss you off. However, if you can look back at the '80s with a healthy dose of irony, you're gonna laugh a lot. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| C. T. Grey - Fifty Sheds of Grey A parody of that 50 Shades of Gray stuff that is oh so popular. It has some funny stuff in it, like “Pleasure and pain can be experienced simultaneously,” she said, gently massaging my back as we listened to her Coldplay CD." | |

Now that's one I haven't picked up in a LONG time... Not currently reading anything yet. Still hanging out for a couple paychecks (just started my new job) so I can buy the last Robert Jordan - Wheel Of Time book. I've been waiting for the conclusion to that series for 20 years! I am gonna be SOOOOOOOO pissed if it ends with a thud.... _________________ You're cancer, you can't be the answer, you're killing me

| Stephen Hunter - The Third Bullet
Stephen Hunter is my favorite author and I am really enjoying his newest book. Unbelievably, it turns out that Mrs. Witchfinder's editor at Simon & Schuster is also Stephen Hunter's editor! Hopefully I can weasel my way in to some autographed novels!
