Subject: R.I.P. Peter Banks (founding Yes guitarist) Tue Mar 12, 2013 12:12 pm
Peter Banks, who played on the first 2 Yes albums (Yes, Time And A Word) has passed away. He was 65.
This is a good example Peter's jazz-influenced playing from the first Yes album, check out the section that starts around 2:47:
Peter also recorded 3 excellent progressive rock albums with the band "Flash" in 1972/73.

That sucks!!! I used to own the first Yes album on vinyl and currently own the two Flash albums on vinyl.
It has been several years since I have heard his music but back in the day, those Flash got plenty of spins

You need to check out those Flash albums, knowing your appreciation for jazz arrangements I think they would be right up your alley.

I was not aware of that third Flash album, til just now! Hey I never claimed to be an expert on Peter Banks or Yes, I just like what I like, and liked these albums back in the day.
Never owned the other Yes album he appeared on.
