I really should check out more recent Sodom, I've got everything up to and including Tapping the Vein. But I can't say that I know their recent stuff.

ditto. put me down for the last few though. they weren't awful by any means, just not very memorable to me. not including the rerecording of the first one.

I liked their last one and it came with an extra live cd (my edition, digipack) and that was very cool.

I was meh with the last one. I will be interested to hear the new one though.

I severely dislike those 2 releases. I also dislike early Sepultura too, and i consider all those releases similar.

I did really like the last Sodom though.

I hate Obsessed by Cruelty and In the Sign of Evil.

right on!! Those are my favorites from Sodom as well.

In The Sign of Evil and Obsessed by Cruelty are what they are. Raw unpolished demo quality recordings by kids that couldn't play. they really got it together on the Expurse Of Sodomy EP which was awesome and lead to their best period until things started going downhill Better Off Dead/Tapping the Vein (both are still very good)

As I've said, I haven't really listened since then but will be interested to hear the new one

In War And Pieces is very very good.

Shows the evolved and mature side of SODOM.

Too bad you don't like them. Without those releases, Sodom would not have evolved into what they became or what they are now. But then again, I love black/thrash and death/thrash way more than normal thrash.

I see your point, to a certain extent and both are treasured items in my collection and of course I recognize the influence that they had on Black Metal but they are hard for me to listen to all the way through without getting bored these days as it really is amateur hour musically, then again, I don't like 'necro' BM either.

I disagree that without those releases, Sodom would not have evolved into what they became. I think that they started making records far too early in their career and these records would have been just fine as demos. The arrival of Frank Blackfire (who could actually play) was the biggest single event that made them what they eventually became, moth musically and lyrically.

I liked the last one so I'll be giving this a close look.

I can't wait to hear it!! Sodom is my favorite German Thrash band!

Anybody ordered their copy yet?

I've listened to some samples and enjoyed them. Everything from Code Red on is killer from these guys imo.

I can appreciate the early stuff while enjoying the newer stuff more.

I thought s/t titled was ok. War and Pieces was pretty good.

I just got this yesterday, and I am really liking it. The songs are very catchy, reminds me a lot of the songs on m-16. I've listened to it about 6 times, and I already know the songs on this better than s't and WAP.

Good buy for me.

I really like it but I really like WaP too.
