| Just in case anyone's wondering, the critter in that photo is called a Coconut Crab, and yes, they do exist. They're the largest species of land crab on earth. They can measure up to three feet across (counting the legs) and weigh up to nine pounds.
They are called "Coconut Crabs" because they're able to climb coconut trees to remove the fruits, after which they will break the shells open with their claws/legs so they can nom-nom-nom on its innards.
Imagine the terror of walking under a coconut tree and having a clumsy one of these things fall out on your head. Yikes!!!
They live on islands in the South Seas, and now, in my nightmares too. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
