Jethro Tull - Stand Up (Warner/Reprise). Early pressing that still has the original pop-up figures of the band members when you open the gatefold. I used to have a later pressing of this LP and that feature was removed. According to what I could find on the internet the pop-up figures were only included in the '69 and '70 pressings.
Found this photo online:
2001: A Space Odyssey (MGM Records) - one of my favorite soundtracks, I actually owned a copy of this in my pre-teen years but it was lost sometime around 1981, so it's nice to find another copy.

If you dig this guy, I highly recommend anything Nick Curran has released. He did this kind of stuff for years. Unfortunately he died recently from cancer.

It's different, but not vastly different. You can just tell it's not the same recording, though the song structure, etc. is exactly the same. I think the guitar solo might be a little different. It's more of a collector's thing than anything else.
Here's the 12"

Interesting how they did the "creature" in a lighter color than on the album covers.
Which leads me to this question, anyone know if there ever was a name for it ?

I believe the Dio camp informally referred to the critter as "Murray"

Somehow, I knew you'd be the one with the answer

I have a U.K release of Slayer Show no Mercy that although being a Roadrunner release has the Music For Nations logo on the back cover. It also has a lyric insert rather than a lyric sleeve. I live in the U.K and have owned various copies of this record since 1985 and have never come across this release before and have tried to find info on it but have failed miserably Anyone know whether this is an early or later release?
As for rare records owned, I would guess that some of the rarest are
Bathory - Bathory (Black Mark 2nd pressing, 1st with white goat with insert) Megadeth - Youthanasia (Korean black vinyl) Celtic Frost - Tragic Seranades (Noise pic disc) Black Sabbath - Volume 4 (Vertigo Spaceship label) Dark Angel - We have Arrived - (Skull cut out pic disc)

My understanding is that Roadrunner was initially set up for U.S bands to get distribution in Europe and maybe Music For Nations was licensed to have those releases released in Britian at that same time period. I think the same scenario was done with Music For Nations in Britain for Combat and some Enigma releases as well.

Thanks, that must be the case. It was just that in many years I have never seen any other copy like this.
