Remember that big pile of albums someone from work gave me? Well, I am still going thru it and finally had a chance to clean and listen to Stained Class. What a good album! I had never listened to it before. In fact, the first time i heard "Invader" it was the Saint version (so since it was the first one I heard I like Saint's better). "Better By You, Better Than Me" is a great song too. So THAT is the song that caused all the Priest controversy.
Cant believe I had not heard this til now. What a good album.
Reminds me of my childhood friend, Chuck. He was a big Maiden and Priest fan back in the 80's. Then we he got saved, like Scott, he threw out all his metal albums. Over the past couple of years he was going back and finding that old stuff again to listen to. He told me what a good album it was. Sadly, he was killed in a car accident last Thanksgiving Day.
Bottom line: For a free album it is awesome! Would pay to have this one on vinyl!

What he said.
I still like all eras of Priest and still give the later stuff its share of spins, but 9 times outta 10 when I'm in a Priestly mood nowadays I reach back to "Unleashed in the East" or prior.

Stained Class is my favorite Priest studio album and Unleashed is my favorite Priest album of any kind. They were amazing in the 70s.

I tend to listen to more 70's Priest than later albums these day - probably most likely because I overplayed the British Steel on wards albums to death....
I have a copy of Stained Class on vinyl, along with Unleashed and Sad Wings - they sound great!
I agree completely about 70s Priest. However, Screaming for Vengeance is still my all time favorite album of theirs, and imho their most flawless.

Nice! I want those and all the singles. The red box for them would be cool as well.
